From being just as excited as mom-to-be and shopping the little one to filling your social media account with his/her pictures and videos as soon as he/she arrives, you are the best and official babysitter for your ‘cuddle bunny’. Along with your sister/sister-in-law, you’re also entering the new phase your life. Even our Bollywood divas experienced the same feelings and went through the same emotional roller-coaster when they became bua/maasi. Here, we bring to you the list of B-town and television divas who are proud maasi/bua of their little niece/nephew.
Famous producer and daily soap queen, Ekta Kapoor became a proud bua when her brother Tusshar Kapoor embraced fatherhood with a baby boy. On June 1, 2016, Golmaal series actor, Tusshar welcomed his son through IVF and became a hands-on father to his son, Laksshya Kapoor. Ever since the birth of Laksshya, everyone’s lives in the Kapoor family started revolving around him.
Laksshya’s doting and adorable bua Ekta, despite her hectic schedule, manages to spend quality time with her nephew. She keeps on sharing pictures and videos with her 2-year-old nephew, Laksshya on her social media handle. She enjoys the time to the fullest with her little bundle of joy who is now the love of her life. Speaking about Laksshya, Ekta stated in an interview:
“I am a human being who recovered from a lot of pain last year because of my nephew. I had many professional ups and downs last year. Television did very well but films did not and that is very in your face because everyone knows it did not do well. So, it just hits you more. But my nephew would just suck out every bit of tension from me. People, when they used to talk about their children, their eyes would light up. And he is not even my own child, he is my nephew but it is magical. A magic happens when a child comes to a house and as a kid grows, you grow with them and the small things become the big things.”

From making her Bollywood debut as an actor with Dil Maange More and after 14 years, making her debut as an author with her first book, The Perils Of Being Moderately Famous, Soha Ali Khan is well-acclaimed in every field she has stepped into. In fact, in her personal life too, Soha is much-loved by all her family members. She is a hands-on-mommy to her ten-month-old daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. But she is also a doting bua of Taimur Ali Khan, son of her brother Saif Ali Khan and her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Taimur and Inaaya are the internet sensations and their ‘cuteness overloaded’ pictures make everyone go ‘aww’ on social media. Soha shared the first picture with Taimur on her Instagram handle, from her baby shower. Soha added the text, "When Taimur meets Masti" to the picture. She later shared the first picture of her nephew, Taimur with her daughter, Inaaya and the internet went crazy over the little munchkins. Soha is also protective about Taimur and feels that being a child, he is surrounded by the media and paparazzi way too much. She once stated in an interview:
"I honestly think it's too much especially for Taimur... It's all normal for him but childhood is about innocence and he shouldn't be robbed of that. He has a right to his privacy and that needs to be respected by the media. I feel bad because whenever Taimur goes with his parents, the media reaches there to click his photographs. I want to urge media to not use the flash while clicking their pictures. We understand public scrutiny is part of the job but that is a call we took for ourselves not our children, so it doesn't seem fair for them to be exposed to the media glare."
Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda is all praises for her sister-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her niece, Aaradhya Bachchan. Shweta loves how Aishwarya has nurtured Aaradhya, and in fact, she was quoted as saying in an interview:
“There isn’t much room for any of our inputs, because Aishwarya is doing it all by herself. As a result, Aaradhya is doing a lot more than my kids were doing at her age. She’s forming words, saying them, listening to everything we say and absorbing it. She’s even taking steps on her own now. Aishwarya’s determination is evident.”
Shweta is very close to her brother, Abhishek Bachchan and they both share a great camaraderie with each other. Abhishek’s daughter, Aaradhya is everyone’s treasure in the Bachchan family, and bua Shweta loves her to the core. Even Shweta’s children, Navya Naveli Nanda and Agstya Nanda also share a great bond with their little cousin sister, Aaradhya.

No, it’s not her husband! We are talking about her adorable 3-year-old nephew, Kabir Dhami. Kabir is the son of Drashti’s brother, Jaisheel Dhami and her sister-in-law, Suhasi. Drashti loves sharing pictures with her little munchkin on her social media handle and is loving this ‘bua phase’.
Speaking about the same, Drashti stated to the Times Of India:
"The bua phase is amazing. Initially, I used to get irritated as when Kabir was born, I was shooting for Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani in Naigaon which is very far, and I was not able to meet him. But finally after I left the show, I got a chance to meet and spend time with him. Now, he has become friendly with me and we have a lot of fun together. He is more fond of Niraj (Drashti’s husband) than me. Like, if I do a video call with him right now, he will ask where is Niraj? He is more interested in talking to Niraj than me. It makes me jealous sometimes but then it’s ok you can’t envy your partner (laughs).”
