On February 2, 2024, a post was shared on Poonam Pandey's IG handle that was inscribed with the heartbreaking message of the actress' demise. As per several media reports, Poonam's manager, Parul Chawla stated that the actress was suffering from cervical cancer, and she was diagnosed with the same some time back, and it was in the last stage. Talking to India Today, Poonam's manager also revealed that the late actress was in her hometown, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, when she breathed her last, and her last rites will reportedly take place there. Poonam's manager can be quoted as saying:
"She got detected with cancer sometime back, and it was in the latter stages. She was in her hometown in Uttar Pradesh, and the funeral will mostly happen there."

It was on February 2, 2024, when a picture note was posted on Poonam Pandey's official IG handle, wherein it was written that Poonam Pandey breathed her last due to cervical cancer. As the diva often used to mark the headlines due to controversies and stunts, some people found this news to be a part of her publicity stunt. However, the news was confirmed by India TV's journalist, Namrata Dubey. The post from the picture note on Poonam's IG could be read as:
"This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.''
In an old interview with Times Now, Poonam Pandey talked in deets about herself. The late actress shared that she is not different from what she shows herself on social media and at home, and in both places, it's her real personality. Poonam also added that her parents don't like the way she conducts herself. Talking more about the same, he actress shared that although she was born and brought up in Mumbai, she belonged to a Bramhim family.
