Poonam Pandey was trending all over the internet after her manager, Parul Chawla confirmed the news of her demise. In a conversation with India Today, Parul revealed that Poonam passed away due to cervical cancer. The painful news broke everyone's hearts, but only after 24 hours on February 3, 2024, a video was dropped on Poonam's IG handle, and it simply broke the internet as she was sitting and talking in the video.
The 32-year-old model revealed that she was raising awareness about cervical cancer by faking her death. The campaign was trolled heavily by netizens, and even celebrities joined them to criticise the actress. Well, after 14 days of faking her own death, Poonam is once again grabbing eyeballs after she dropped a post on her IG handle. In the post, we can read a simple line that reads, "The truth shall be revealed soon".

As soon as the post went active on Instagram, several netizens started commenting on her post and took a dig at her. While one user commented, "Common don't create drama again Poonam", another netizen slammed Poonam by commenting, "We don't want to hear any fake truth".
Not only this, one user even trolled Poonam Pandey for deleting both the videos which she uploaded about cervical cancer. The user commented, "She literally deleted everything about that cervical cancer".
According to a report by Pinkvilla, a person named Faizan Ansari filed a defamation lawsuit of Rs. 100 crore against Poonam Pandey for faking her death. The FIR was lodged with the Kanpur Police Commissioner. In his FIR, Faizan clearly stated that he was triggered by the mockery Poonam made about serious illnesses like cervical cancer. Not only this, Faizan even mentioned Poonam's estranged husband, Sam Bombay, for hurting the emotions of so many people and cervical cancer patients.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Poonam Pandey's estranged husband, Sam Bombay also shared his reaction after knowing that she is alive and that she faked her death to raise awareness about cervical cancer. Sam clearly stated that he felt nothing in his heart when he heard the news about Poonam's death. However, he added that he is her constant well-wisher. He said:
"When I heard the news, I felt nothing in my heart. There was no sense of loss. And I thought this can't be. Why do I feel nothing? Because when you're connected, you feel everything. I think about her (Poonam Pandey) every day. And, I pray for her every day. If something was wrong, I'd know."
