This announcement of the two being cast together was when rumours became confirmation for their fans. It is yet unknown if this romance was one that took shape on-set or started before the two were cast together. Subsequently, in the same month, The Daily Mail cited that Cruise's aversion to the Scientology beliefs was not a deal-breaker for Armas, and the two were spotted at David Beckham’s birthday party, to which Cruise took Ana himself.
Looking back at April, March and February 2025, Tom personally piloted a helicopter ride for Armas’s 37th birthday as per E! News, then the two flew to London together, on which insiders told the media that they were not together but only working on Deeper. In February, the two were spotted on a possible Valentine’s dinner date, but a few days later, Armas was spotted holding hands with her then-alleged boyfriend, Manuel Anido Cuesta, in Madrid.
At the time when Cruise supported Ana for her film Ballerina publicly, sources claimed that the two were not involved romantically and because her film was set on the same action theme as was Tom’s upcoming project at the time, Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, he had been nothing but a mentor to her.
