Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleFormer YouTuber Bryant Moreland, better known as EDP445, has been arrested due to his alleged attempt to meet a 13-year-old for sexual purposes. He was arrested after more than five years of a sting operation that went viral and damaged his online career. The YouTuber is now facing multiple felony charges that have drawn new attention to the incident.
Why was EDP445 arrested?
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Bryant Moreland was taken into custody in Las Vegas on November 4, 2026. The Kern County District Attorney's Office confirmed that he would be extradited to Kern County, California, to face the charges. The charges include attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, and contacting a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
In fact, he is also charged with sending content with the intent to seduce a minor. The arrest is linked to a 2021 sting operation where he allegedly believed that he was going to meet a 13-year-old girl. Rather, he was met by an adult YouTuber. The whole incident was recorded and eventually went viral. Although it got a lot of attention, the YouTuber was not arrested at the time.
When asked about his purpose for visiting the place, he infamously claimed he was "coming out here to pick up a cupcake". So, it immediately sparked backlash, and YouTube permanently terminated his channel. It meant his 2 million subscribers and 10 years of content were wiped out. He was also de-platformed from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, ending his career.
However, the case reopened after the release of a new documentary, The Sick Mind of EDP445, in August 2026. It gave prosecutors new evidence. The film also featured an interview with investigative journalist Chris Hansen, who previously spoke with the YouTuber on his Have a Seat podcast. During the chat, Bryant accepted his intentions when he came to the location. In his words:
"I showed up to that location that day trying to obviously meet up with an underage girl. You know what I mean? And I guess you can say ... I don't know ... trying to have sex."
After the release, the Kern County District Attorney's Office and Sheriff's Office again opened the case. Prosecutors said that the recent statements made by Bryant prompted them to reopen the investigation.
At the same time, YouTuber JiDion, who was involved in organizing the original sting, also shared footage of Bryant's arrest outside a dialysis center in Las Vegas. He is now awaiting extradition to California, where the criminal proceedings will continue.
More about EDP445's YouTube career and personal life
Bryant Moreland became famous online under the name EDP445, 35, which means "EatDatPussy445." He started his main YouTube channel in 2010. Eventually, it grew to more than 2 million subscribers. The majority of his content was focused on the Philadelphia Eagles. He was known for his loud, emotional, and profanity-filled reactions to the team's performances, especially the losses.
Following his fame, he appeared on Comedy Central's Tosh.0. Bryant was also seen in the 2019 documentary Maybe This Year. But his online career ended after the 2021 sting. After his social media ban, all his attempts to return through alternative accounts were unsuccessful.
Notably, before becoming a full-time content creator, he worked at Walmart and as a security guard. In 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Stage 5 kidney failure and required regular dialysis treatment. Meanwhile, Bryant is dating a 42-year-old Marissa. However, the documentary revealed that they had not been intimate during their relationship. In turn, the former YouTuber expressed his frustration over the same.
