He also stated that he has average monthly earnings of just USD 776.34.
Why is Olivier Martinez asking Halle Berry to pay for his legal fees?
Olivier Martinez has made a new filing in court. As per the documents obtained by TMZ, he has asked Halle to cover USD 240,009 in legal expenses. This also includes USD 176,522.58 that he needs to pay to the attorneys. Meanwhile, the other USD 63,477.42 is for his future legal costs in the case.

According to the actor's financial declaration, Olivier revealed that he has a monthly expense of USD 17,555.99. However, he has limited income. In fact, Olivier has approximately USD 43,206.22 in various accounts.
For those who don't know, Olivier had sought a domestic violence restraining order against Halle Berry. He alleged that she choked their son during an incident on September 26, 2026. But she strongly denied the accusation. In fact, her legal team called the claims "misleading" and "without merit." The case intensified in October 2026 when Olivier requested sole custody and a restraining order.
Maceo also gave his testimony in the case for nearly four hours during a closed-door court session. In fact, both the parents were ordered out of the courtroom while he gave his testimony. Eventually, on October 29, 2026, a judge dissolved Olivier's temporary restraining order. However, it made temporary changes to the custody agreement.

Under the revised arrangement, Olivier was given the primary physical custody of Maceo. Meanwhile, Halle's overnight visits were temporarily limited. She was allowed daytime visits on Mondays, Tuesdays, and alternating weekends. The court also ordered the actress and Maceo to attend joint therapy sessions to improve their relationship. However, it is a temporary custody arrangement.

Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry tied the knot in 2013 before eventually going separate ways in 2015. They finalized their divorce in 2016 and continued to co-parent their son. Olivier has mostly kept a low profile after the split and has taken fewer acting projects.
As per his latest financial disclosure, Halle pays him USD 8,000 per month in child support. In fact, she also pays an additional 4.3% of her annual income exceeding USD 2 million. The actress also covers all of Maceo's expenses, including his school fees, healthcare, and extracurricular activities.
However, the financial arrangement has become another issue of disagreement. Halle previously accused Olivier of being 'willfully unemployed'.
