Nancy Guthrie's disappearance case took another dramatic turn after fresh online claims suggested that nobody saw her daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, for over a week!
It has officially been 100 days since Nancy Guthrie went missing from her Catalina Foothills home in Tucson, Arizona, without a trace. The 84-year-old mother of NBC’s Savannah Guthrie was reported missing on February 1, 2026, and no suspect has been arrested yet, nor has there been any proof of life. Amid heated discussion about her whereabouts, new claims have surfaced online, suggesting that Nancy’s daughter, Annie Guthrie, and son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, have allegedly not been seen for more than a week.
The latest buzz comes after a recent update by self-proclaimed investigator Jonathan Lee Riches, popularly known online as JLR, shared a post on X. Riches, who has been actively sharing updates about the investigation since the beginning, claims that a person identified as Annie and Tommaso’s neighbour joined one of his livestreams and alleged that the couple has not been seen in the area for days.
The neighbour added that the couple, along with their vehicle, had been missing for over a week, and nobody knows where they may have gone. Sharing the update, JLR wrote on X:
“Neighbor of Annie & Tommaso is on our live tonight & said he hasn't seen them or their vehicle in over a week. Where is Nancy Guthrie?”
While many users suggest that the couple may have just gone on a vacation, given that the school year has ended and Tommaso is a teacher by profession, their disappearance in the middle of an active investigation raises eyebrows. Other users, meanwhile, have some wild theories. Many comments on the post suggest that Annie and Tommaso may finally know where Nancy is and have gone to find her. There is, however, no verified evidence of any of these claims.
Even though Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has repeatedly stated that none of the Guthrie family members is considered a suspect, Annie and Tommaso continue to remain at the centre of online attention. They were reportedly among the last people to see Nancy Guthrie before she went missing, and it was Tommaso Cioni, who had allegedly dropped her back home after a family dinner at their house on January 31, 2026, hours before she was abducted. That timeline alone has kept online investigators and social media users heavily focused on the couple, despite authorities publicly clearing them.
Another major talking point was that officials had raided Annie and Tommaso’s property not once but multiple times, raising locals’ suspicions that the investigators were on to something. Moreover, authorities reportedly kept the couple’s car for an extended period before eventually returning it. The officials never publicly revealed what exactly was found in the car or whether anything significant emerged from the examination.
Online speculation exploded after several YouTubers and independent investigators questioned why the car was being examined for so long. Experts following the case claimed investigators may have dismantled parts of the vehicle while searching for forensic evidence, possible DNA traces, or clues connected to Nancy’s disappearance.
As of now, there is no official confirmation suggesting Annie Guthrie or Tommaso Cioni are missing. No mainstream reports indicate that the couple has relocated from Tucson either. Some believe the couple may have simply left town temporarily amid the relentless public attention surrounding the case. Others pointed out that online creators and livestreamers have reportedly been gathering outside their home for weeks, possibly forcing them to seek privacy elsewhere.
TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie has repeatedly defended her sister Annie and Tommaso against growing online theories. Savannah publicly slammed speculation surrounding the couple and insisted that both Annie and Tommaso deeply loved Nancy Guthrie. She also criticised the internet frenzy around the case, especially the accusations being spread without evidence.
Authorities have yet to publicly identify any suspects or reveal a definitive theory about what happened to Nancy Guthrie.
