It has almost been thirty years since rapper Tupac Shakur was killed in Las Vegas. The fascination with his love life has not faded. The rapper was closest to his ex-girlfriend, Kidada Jones, who reportedly stood by him at the end of his life. She was a part of a very important chapter in his life.

According to social media reports, Kidada Jones is the daughter of producer Quincy Jones and actress Peggy Lipton. Quincy slammed Tupac and questioned his relations with white women. Kidada did not like that, and then she contacted Tupac. What started as a confrontation bloomed into a friendship and then into a relationship.

Tupac Shakur was reportedly engaged to Kidada Jones

Kidada Jones brought a lot of stability in the life of Tupac Shakur. Both of them spent time in Los Angeles, and according to reports, the duo was engaged, but no wedding date was ever announced. It was on September 7, 1996, when Tupac went to attend Mike Tyson and Bruce Seldon's boxing match in Las Vegas.

Tupac Shakur's fiancee, Kidada Jones was waiting for him at the hotel when she got the news that he was dead

Tupac, before leaving to see the boxing match, had told Kidada to prepare his clothes for the night. She was waiting for him at Luxor Hotel when she got the news that the rapper was shot dead. In an interview, Kidada revealed that thinking of Tupac always tears up her heart.

In her book, School of Awake, Kidada referred to Tupac as not just her boyfriend, but the love that redefined what it meant to be chosen and fully understood. Their time together was very short, but she had found a lifetime connection in him. Kidada had shared:

"With Pac, I felt known. I felt chosen. When he died, he took a piece of my heart with him. I still talk to him sometimes — not because I can’t let go, but because love like that doesn’t vanish.”

Kidada felt that her love story with Tupac was very deep, extraordinary, and something that people find once in a lifetime. It was not like the wild Hollywood romance; it was very spiritual. Kidada said it felt like two souls meeting for a brief moment together to create memories forever. Kidada had shared that healing for her was not easy and had shared:

"I couldn’t forgive him for leaving, so I had to learn to understand him. That’s grief in its rawest truth, when love doesn’t end, it just changes form. You stop trying to let go and start learning how to live with the conversation that never really ends."

On one end, Kidada had carried the grief of losing Tupac for a lifetime, and on the flip side, Tupac even had a relationship with Madonna. The relationship between both of them was a secret back in 1993 when Madonna was 34, and Tupac was only 21. When Madonna came on The Howard Stern Show back in March 2015, Madonna confessed to dating Tupac Shakur in 1993.

She admitted that he had got her all ''riled up on life in general'. It was Rosie Perez who made Madonna and Tupac meet. When Rosie was ghosted by her date, she had gone to the 1993 Soul Train Music Awards with Tupac.

Tupac had written a breakup letter to Madonna on January 15, 1995, at 4:30 a.m. He had mentioned a disagreement between the two of them and how he felt tense dating a pop star like Madonna. Tupac apologized to Madonna, saying he hadn't been the kind of friend he knew he was capable of being.

Tupac had stated that the breakup with Madonna was due to the pressure of being in an interracial relationship, which might have posed a risk to his music career. The relationship had an amicable ending, and both of them had left on a good note. It said, "I don't know how you feel about visiting me, but if you could find it in your heart, I would love to speak face to face with you. It's funny, but this experience has taught me not to take time 4 granted."
