According to reports, she tied the knot with the love of her life, Ken Barnett. For those unaware, Ken is an IATSE manager and fine artist. However, while sharing the intimate details of her wedding, the actress opened up about how their original venue got cancelled, leaving the couple super stressed.

Emily O'Brien and Ken Barnett got married at Calipaso Villa & Winery Paso Robles in Paso Robles, California, on August 1, 2026. For their big day, the pair was surrounded by 150 of their family and friends. While speaking to People about the “magic coincidence” that led them to find their venue, the couple claimed that the venue they initially had their eyes on canceled on them. They said:
“Our original venue was supposed to be in San Luis Obispo, on a hill by the sea. And the venue unexpectedly canceled all of their weddings for the year at the last minute! That was quite stressful, and we panicked.”
This is when Emily and Ken’s wedding planner, Sarah Elizabeth Lloyd, came to their rescue and helped them in a way that “really pulled everything together.” While they were scrambling to find a new venue, the newlyweds took a trip north to Paso Robles when they came across Calipaso.
Emily O'Brien confessed that the stress of finding a new venue on short notice made her really anxious. After crying whenever she found out that most venues were booked, she said that Calipaso luckily had a cancellation for their date. In her words:
“I was so anxious and crying after every venue had already been booked, and friends and family in Europe had already bought their flights to come over on August 1. It was a magic coincidence that they had just had a cancellation recently for our date, so we snagged it! And we couldn’t imagine the wedding being anywhere else now.”
For their actual wedding day, the pair filled the venue with “bespoke vintage” decor while making sure to include lots of color. They wanted all the decor for their once-in-a-lifetime day to feel “curated with intention and meaning.”
In order to add a unique aspect to the wedding, Emily O'Brien and Ken Barnett decided to have vintage postcards that their guests could write and then drop off in an old-fashioned letterbox instead of a commonly seen guestbook.
Their cocktail napkins also featured several quotes taken from a variety of classic romance novels. The couple also made the table name cards themselves that looked like old-fashioned matchboxes. These doubled as gift tokens for their guests.
For those wondering, the theme of Emily and Ken's wedding was a vintage summer garden party. According to the two, their friends fully “delivered” by wearing pastel linen suits, florals, and even carrying lace umbrellas. They added, “Everyone looked so dapper.”
Emily O'Brien wore her husband's grandmother's dress for the wedding
Coming to the Days of Our Lives star’s wedding dress, she wore Ken’s grandmother, Carlene’s dress from 1956. Emily shared that the dress was not only worn by Carlene but also by two more women, all of whom had beautiful and loving marriages. She said:
“It had first been worn by his grandmother’s best friend Nancy, then she passed it to Ken’s grandmother Carlene a year later, who then passed it to her daughter Sheila (Ken’s aunt) in 1996. All three of these women have had beautiful and loving marriages. I could feel that energy when I first tried the dress on.”
