Hannah Montana fans rejoice! After a long wait, the much-anticipated Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is finally here. As you might already be aware, Hannah Montana originally premiered on the Disney Channel almost two decades ago and quickly became a hit with teens and pre-teens. Now, years later, on March 24, 2026, the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special has dropped on the OTT giant, Disney+. The special is hosted by Alex Cooper, who is best known for fronting the fan-favourite Call Her Daddy podcast. However, one thing that caught fans' eyes was Miley Cyrus calling Alex 'kinda creepy' during a filmed segment of the special.
On Monday, March 23, 2026, hordes of Hollywood's most well-known celebs flocked to the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles to attend the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. Some of them included Celebrity Big Brother UK fame, JoJo Siwa, Willow Smith, Jaden Smith, and, of course, many former Hannah Montana cast members. To support Miley Cyrus as she resurrects the beloved Disney Channel character she originally played from 2006 to 2011, her family members, including her mom, Tish Cyrus, were also in the audience.
In addition to them, Miley's self-professed “super-fan” Alex Copper was also in attendance. However, she was there not only as a fan of the superstar but also as the host for a sit-down interview with Miley to discuss the Disney show's impact two decades later. Well, knowing Miley, Alex became the target of a little ribbing from the Flowers singer. She jokingly called Alex ‘creepy’ onstage, claiming that the podcast host had moved in next door to her after interviewing Miley on Call Her Daddy a while back. Miley recounted:
“And Alex being a superfan, kinda creepy. She's also my neighbour, which is also creepy. She got money and then moved next door to me. There was no other host…yeah, it's weird.”
Miley Cyrus went on to joke about a moment that occurred after Alex Copper moved into her neighbourhood. She recalled that when Alex recognised her neighbourhood, she asked Miley, “Oh my god, you live here?” However, the fun fact about this interaction is that Alex had interviewed Miley at her house in that same neighbourhood five years back. Despite her reading, the Hannah Montana star did not forget to thank Alex for being “insanely” dedicated to the show, as well as for the commitment she displays as a host.
No sooner had fans caught wind of Miley calling Alex ‘creepy’ than social media users started sharing their opinions on the Hannah Montana star's remarks. While some thought Miley was being funny, others thought she was being mean to the Call Her Daddy podcast host. One user wrote, “Why is she so mean to Alex?” Another wrote, “Miley calling Alex creepy for moving next door is wild but hilarious. Alex literally became her neighbour after being a superfan. That's obsessed energy, but also calculated for content. Miley's joking, but there's truth there.
A third user wrote, “That’s actually hilarious. From interviewing her to moving next door is a wild full-circle moment.” Another comment on X read, “The line between ‘superfan’ and ‘court-ordered distance' is getting very thin.” A fan penned:
“Miley not holding back at all! That kind of playful shade is hilarious, especially when you can tell there’s history there. Alex really said “superfan with a plan” and made it happen next door. At least they can laugh about it, but yeah… that’s definitely a little creepy in the funniest way possible.
