The glamour world churns a lot of gossip related to a celeb’s life. From a married actor’s extra-marital affair with an actress or a celeb getting pregnant before her wedding, B-town chatters are never-ending. A similar episode happened with the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, when rumours of his proximity with actress, Priyanka Chopra hit the headlines.
When Priyanka Chopra, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor starred together in the 2004 superhit film, Aitraaz, it was Akshay and Priyanka’s chemistry which raised many eyebrows. From their sensual scenes to their on-screen chemistry, it was obvious that something was cooking between the duo. Their growing closeness impacted his wife, Twinkle Khanna and it was also reported that she barred Akshay from further working with Priyanka.

After 2005, Akshay Kumar stopped working with Priyanka Chopra. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, filmmaker, Suneel Darshan revealed why Akshay Kumar backed out from the 2005 film, Barsaat. According to Suneel, Akshay was originally chosen to work in the film, and he also shot a sensuous song with Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. Talking about the same, the director stated:
"I thought the song looked beautiful; no vulgarity, no obscenity, very sensuous. Then Priyanka went for a world tour, and when she came back… I don’t know what happened in between.”
In the same interview, Suneel also stated that it was Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna, who was the reason behind the same as she had issues with Priyanka Chopra. In his words:
“By then, I had also got to know of the other issues that had come up between him and his wife. She had issues with Priyanka, I was told… I feel the profession has its own hazards. Sometimes, the proximity, sometimes the individual’s own lifestyles, all these things come in the way and the media blows it out of proportion, without realising how much loss a filmmaker could suffer because of it.”

In a throwback report of the TOI, Akshay and Twinkle had a major fight in Goa restaurant over Akshay’s fling with Priyanka. A guest who had witnessed the fight had shared:
“The fight happened in full public view and as both Akshay and Twinkle screamed at each other, one got the distinct impression that he had admitted to having an affair with Priyanka Chopra.”
From 2005 till this date, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra have not worked together, despite many directors and producers’ multiple attempts.
