But our soon-to-be-bride, Sonam Kapoor prefers to differ on this ideology. Before you jump on to any judgement, let us tell you what exactly Sonam had said in an interview on Simi Garewal‘s chat show back in 2012. In her appearance on Simi Garewal’s talk show, India’s Most Desirable, Sonam revealed that she is very much like her father, Anil Kapoor as she defined her as dreamy and non-pragmatic like her dad.
Sonam Kapoor believes that they both get very childish at times and this worries her mom, Sunita Kapoor. Sonam said that she is pampered to the core by her parents, especially her father, Anil Kapoor. According to Sonam, her father isn’t like normal people as the passion and brilliance he has for his work has made him crazy. Sonam also referred to Anil Kapoor as a mad scientist who is obsessed with his work. And this is how she sees herself. So, she wishes to have a life partner like her mom, Sunita so that he’ll know how to handle the Saawariya actress and would understand him completely like her mother understands her father. She doesn’t want her future hubby to be like him, who’s little funny, little eccentric because she resembled him. On December 24, 2017, Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram to wish her dad, Anil Kapoor on his birthday. She shared three pictures of her with him and wrote, "You have made me the person I am today and I continue to be inspired and in awe of your charisma, loyalty and dedication every single day. How lucky am I to have a father like you. Happy birthday, Daddy! @anilskapoor" In another picture, she penned down, "There is no one in the world who understands me like you do and for that I'm truly grateful. Happy birthday Daddy, you are a true gem and I'm so lucky to have you in my life @anilskapoor." She captioned the last one as, "Happy birthday to the person who taught me to fight for what I believe in and to never stop chasing my dreams. Sonam Kapoor’s brother, Harshvardhan Kapoor talked about his behena’s wedding at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. Harshvardhan stated, “I am really happy that she is getting married, and Anand is a great guy. But I am just focused on the film”. Further speaking of what wedding gift, he will be giving to Sonam and Anand, he was quoted as saying, “A hug… That’s a joke. A lot of love. I am broke. Have you seen the kind of movies I am doing? Confirming Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding, Kapoors and Ahujas released a statement which could be read as, "The Kapoor and Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam and Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives."
