Sonam Kapoor has been trending in 2018, not only because of her upcoming #imnotaCHICKflick film, Veere Di Wedding but majorly for her much-anticipated wedding. B-town's very own fashionista, Sonam’s wedding with her long-time beau, Anand Ahuja has been the talk of the town since the beginning of the year. The preparations of Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's big fat Punjabi wedding have been going on in full swing. Sonam Kapoor’s cousins, relatives and friends have already started with the dance rehearsals for the sangeet. Anil Kapoor’s residence is decorated with colourful lights and Sonam’s mom, Sunita Kapoor is overlooking the décor and other arrangements at their mansion. Even the trees on the lane to their house were well decked up.
Karan Johar, who will be performing on the title track of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo on Sonam’s sangeet, Sonam’s cousin, Mohit Marwah and designer, Kunal Rawal were spotted outside the Kapoor residence. Sonam’s brother, Harshvardhan Kapoor received them. Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding is surely going to be ‘THE’ wedding of the year and everyone will have their eyes on it.
Indian weddings are incomplete without the non-stop naach-gaana, and when it is the wedding of a B-town celeb, all we can expect is the lineup of the Bollywood biggies on the stage giving their rocking performances. Anil Kapoor’s dear friend, Farah Khan will be choreographing for his daughter’s sangeet, and earlier she sort-of confirmed about the wedding too. As per the reports, Sonam’s cousin, Janhvi Kapoor will be performing on her late mother, Sridevi’s hit tracks, Mere Haathon Me and Kisi Ke Haath Na Aayegi.
Adding more fun to Sonam's fun-filled sangeet night, Bollywood’s Babas Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh will have a special performance on Anil Kapoor’s iconic number, My Name Is Lakhan. Anil joining the boys on their special performance on his classic song is definitely going to be a moment to cherish for everyone. And this indeed is going to be a treat to our eyes. Even though Sonam and Anand’s wedding will be a star-studded affair, it will just be going to be an intimate one with close family members and friends. Sonam mentioned in an interview, “I think there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and I would rather give that money away. I’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. I think it’s important to do all the rituals, but I don’t believe in spending all that money, I find it disgusting and very wasteful, and I’m not okay with that at all.”
Kapoors and Ahujas have been tight-lipped about Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding, and even at the trailer launch of Veere Di Wedding, Sonam refused to talk about her forthcoming wedding. Sonam Kapoor told media reporters, “Everybody will know everything in good time. This is not the right time. I have always had a good relationship with the media so whatever happens, I will share in good time. Thank you so much for keeping your patience.” Reportedly, Sonam has also asked her family members not to speak about the wedding as she wants only her father, Anil Kapoor and sister, Rhea Kapoor to talk about it when the time is right.
