Amidst her viral dancing video at Sandeep Khosla's niece, Saudamini Mattu's wedding reception on the song, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, bride-to-be Sonam Kapoor is making the headlines for her much-anticipated wedding too. Sonam Kapoor and her long-time beau, Anand Ahuja have kept their fans into a tizzy about their most-talked-about big fat Punjabi wedding. From destination wedding in Geneva to desi-style wedding in Mumbai, a lot has been said and changed about the most-awaited wedding of the year 2018. The latest update on Sonam and Anand’s wedding is that the wedding venue or we can say that the wedding venues are finalized. Yes! Sonam’s pre-wedding functions like mehendi, sangeet will be held at different places and her wedding will take place at another venue.
An insider of the Kapoors revealed, “Yes, the initial plan was to have a destination wedding but it’s because of Sonam’s grandmother that they decided to change the venue and keep it somewhere close to their residence. Sonam’s grand mom can’t travel that far and the family obviously feels her presence is more important than the destination.” The wedding will take place at Sonam’s maternal aunt, Kavita Singh’s Bandra heritage mansion. Anand Ahuja and Sonam Kapoor will be pronounced husband and wife in a traditional ceremony. The pre-wedding and wedding celebrations are slated for May 7-8 and it will be a big fat Punjabi wedding. Reportedly, the three functions, mehendi, sangeet and wedding will be held at three different venues. Anand and Sonam’s sangeet will take place at Sonam’s best friend, Samyukta Nair’s five-star resort-style hotel, The Leela at Sahar. The next function, mehendi will take place at Sonam’s 35-crore luxurious duplex apartment in Sunteck Signature Island building at Bandra Kurla Complex. And finally, the big day i.e Sonam and Anand will exchange wedding vows in the heritage mansion at Bandra Bandstand, near Shah Rukh Khan’s bungalow Mannat. The Kapoors and Ahujas have started sending ‘save the date’ messages. According to Mid-Day reports, "Those in the know say that Sonam has been sending near and dear ones 'save the date' messages. Though there is no official announcement of the wedding from the Kapoors and Ahujas, Bollywood’s ace choreographer, Farah Khan unintentionally confirmed Sonam’s wedding. At the launch of the show, Entertainment Ki Raat, Farah said, “He [Anil Kapoor] is so fond of me that I will be choreographing his daughter’s sangeet”. A source close to the Kapoor family revealed to a leading online portal, “Rehearsals are in full swing. Karan is also very excited as he is performing on the title track of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. And the fact that he is dancing to the steps of his best friend, Farah is like a cherry on the cake. All of them are having too much fun while preparing for their acts”.
