Bhabhi-nanad jodi has a special connection and bond between them. When a girl gets married and enters a new family, she could ask nothing more than a sister for life in the form of her nanad. Shloka Mehta, the youngest daughter of diamantaire Russell Mehta, is lucky enough to find her best friend and sister both in her nanad. Shloka will get married by the end of this year to Akash Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, and she is already best friends with his sister, Isha Ambani. Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta are all set to get officially engaged on June 30, 2018, at Ambanis residence, Antilia. Ambanis and Mehtas hosted a mehendi and sangeet ceremony for the couple and it was no less than a royal bash. Amongst the pictures and videos are circulating on the social media, one video that stole the limelight is of Akash’s twin sister, Isha Ambani welcoming her bhai and bhabhi.
In the video, we can see Isha performing the welcome rituals with a ceremonial Gujarati song playing in the background. The bond between Akash and Isha can be seen as they tease each other and the later playfully sprayed holy water on her brother, Isha and Shloka’s bond was seen when the latter paid respects to her sister-in-law. Nita Ambani guided her daughter Isha as she performed the welcoming ritual for her bhai and bhabhi.
Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta are close friends now. friends now. In fact, at their pre-engagement bash, Shloka herself said that she is best friends with her sister, Diya and her sister-in-law, Isha. The pre-engagement witnessed high-profile guests who came to congratulate the soon-to-be-married couple. From Shah Rukh Khan with his wife, Gauri Khan, Priyanka Chopra walked hand-in-hand with her alleged boyfriend Nick Jonas, newbie couple, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji to Sachin Tendulkar with his family, everyone was present to bless the couple and make the day even more special for them. While there are no official dates announced for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s wedding, but as per the reports, it will be a five-day-long affair in December 2018. For the uninitiated ones, Akash and Shloka are childhood friends and are best friends since then. In an intimate ceremony in Goa, Akash and Shloka got engaged on March 24, 2018, in the presence of their families. Later, Ambanis hosted a star-studded post-engagement party at Antilia which was attended by who’s who of the Bollywood, cricket and business fraternity.
Even at the post-engagement bash that Ambanis hosted for Akash and Shloka, Isha welcomed her bhabhi Shloka in the family, with a heartfelt speech. Isha said, “Today is all about ‘hearts’. The theme is ‘hearts’, Shloka is ‘heart’, Akash is a ‘heart’; it’s about the greeting of hearts, meeting of hearts, and the celebration of hearts. And Anand and I are all hearts for Shloka and Akash. I don’t think our hearts could burst anymore with love and affection than it is today. And, we are just so happy to call Akash our bhai and Shloka our Bhabhi." The elated nanad who was on cloud nine to get a sister-like bhabhi, went on to say, "Welcome to the family. But the truth is that Shloka has been a part of our family since as far as I can remember. Diya (Shloka's sister) and I were in school together, and Diya is the first best friend I ever had. And, by relation, Shloka has also been my best friend since...I don't know, I can't even remember a time in my life when I didn't know Shloka. So in many ways, this is the officialising the fact that we were sisters; born to different mothers. And I am just so happy that I finally get to call her my real sister. And, our family feels complete in a way that it never did before. So, welcome to the family."
