Ekta Kapoor is the latest addition in this list, and we are all so surprisingly happy! We had all been waiting for the day when Ekta would announce the name of her Prince Charming, but shunning every speculation, she is now a single mother with a baby boy in her life. Ekta Kapoor became a mother on January 27, 2019, when Ravie Kapoor was born through surrogacy.
Speaking of the Bollywood celebrities who have become parents to surrogate babies, the one name which pops in our minds is none other than, Karan Johar. And do you know that there is one thing common between Ekta Kapoor and Karan Johar when it comes to their surrogate babies? Well, both Ekta and Karan have named their surrogate baby boys after their own fathers! Yes, Ravie Kapoor is Ekta's father, Jeetendra's original name, and Karan's baby boy- Yash Johar was also the name of KJo's father. Interesting, isn't it? Ekta and Karan are also really close to each other and both have named their surrogate baby boys after their own fathers!
Ekta Kapoor's father, Jeetendra is on cloud nine these days after the arrival of his grandson. Talking to Mid-Day about the same, the veteran actor was quoted as saying, "Shobha and I were over the moon when we heard it first. We are looking forward to him coming home. Our family makes daily rounds of the suburban hospital where the baby is currently under supervision. My family says he (Ravie) looks just like me, but then, a child's looks keep changing every day. It's tough to say who he will resemble in the future. Now, I have Laksshya and Ravie — they are the apple of my eye. I can die peacefully now as both my babies have their own babies." Jeetendra's original name was Ravi Kapor, without the letter E at the last. Jeetu ji shared with the media portal that the last letter was added as per an astrological recommendation. He shared, "The letter 'E' was added on the recommendation of their astrologer. We wanted an astrologically name starting with R, and then Ekta thought why not name him after baba?"
Ekta Kapoor shared the happy news of embracing motherhood yesterday (January 31, 2019) on social media. She disclosed, "By God’s grace, I have seen many successes in my life, but nothing beats the feeling of this beautiful soul being added in my world. I cannot even begin to express how happy my baby’s birth has made me. Everything in life doesn’t go the way you want it to but there are always solutions to those hiccups. I found mine and today I feel immensely blessed to become a parent. It is an emotional moment for me and my family and I can’t wait to begin this new journey of being a mother to my little bundle of joy, Ravie Kapoor."
Tusshar Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor's brother and himself a surrogate father to Lakkshya Kapoor, elatedly posted on social media, "I’m excited to announce the arrival of my nephew, a baby boy named Ravie Kapoor, born last week through IVF and surrogacy. Ekta has been like a mother to my son Laksshya! This marks the beginning of a new phase in her life, an exciting time of completeness and fulfilment! God bless Ravie with a life of peace, happiness & good health and my sincere thank you to all of you for the support & for showering our family with so much affection."
Karan Johar, on the other hand, embraced fatherhood when Yash and Roohi Johar were born in February 2017. Talking about fatherhood, Karan had once said, "A single father is unusual in India. There are some famous single fathers in the world, celebs who were brave to have babies out of surrogacy, like Cristiano Ronaldo and Ricky Martin. But I wasn’t inspired by them. Or by anybody."
The Ae Dil Hai Mushkill director had further added, "I know Tusshar Kapoor took the step first. And what he did was amazing. But by the time his son Laksshya was born, my procedure had also started. I feel connected to Tusshar by our common decision. You can’t be inspired by anybody to have a baby out of surrogacy. You have to be emotionally ready. I was also prepared mentally, physically and logistically." (You May Like: Ranveer Kisses Deepika On Their Dinner Date As Paparazzi Click Them, Their PDA Is Unmissable)
