Bobby Deol, who is currently hogging the limelight for his powerful role in Bandar, recently opened up about his father, Dharmendra’s death. For the unversed, the legendary actor unexpectedly passed away in November 2025. A while ago, Bobby Deol, who is widely recognised for roles in Animal, Aashram, Class Of 83 and more, revealed that Dharmendra’s death has motivated him to do better.
Recently, Bobby Deol sat down for a conversation with Navika Kumar on the podcast, Baatein Dil Ki, during which he opened up about his father, Dharmendra’s death and how that has motivated him to do better in his career. He also explained that he wished he spent more time with his father. Bobby Deol was quoted as saying:
"But he's been my inspiration. He's the reason why I'm even more motivated after he passed, that I have to do even better. Papa saw me succeed. Now I want to succeed even more. And when I talk about succeeding, I mean doing good work and being recognised for my work with every film I do. Imagine an 89-year-old man who's not keeping that great as health wise but the fire he had, the desire he had, the passion he had for work. And I think about these things and I just get more motivated. And I think that just keeps staying in my head."

Further, in the interview, actor, Lord Bobby explained that his father, Dharmendra was God’s favourite child and being his son is his biggest achievement. The Bandar actor also stated that ever since Dharmendra has died, he has been receiving all that love on his behalf. He concluded by calling himself ‘lucky’ that he could spend nearly 57 years with Dharmendra. In his words:
"Dharmendra was God's child. He was someone. Unke jaise log kam aate hai, doobara nahin aate. It will be his biggest achievement that I'm Dharmendra son. There is so much love for Papa wherever I go in the world in these five six months. I feel my papa is giving me love through these people. Maybe God wanted him to be in this industry so he could reach out to so many people and touch their hearts. But there are people like that existing in our country. I meet people like that in my journeys. And I'm just lucky that I spent 57 years of my life with my dad."

For the unversed, Dharmendra passed away in November 2025, days after being admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital. Reportedly, he was suffering breathing issues and was under observation. However, he was later discharged. At this time, multiple reports surfaced claiming that the veteran actor had passed away. Later, Esha Deol slammed reports, but a few days after it, Dharmendra tragically passed away. After his death, when paps followed the family everywhere, Bobby and Sunny publicly slammed the media for insensitive reporting.

Bobby Deol needs no introduction. He has subtly ruled Bollywood ever since his debut in Barsaat. Over the years, he appeared in movies like Race 3, Poster Boys, Dostana, Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai, Kranti, Gupt and more.
