Bobby Deol Reveals His Wife, Tanya Threatened To Leave Him During Tough Times, 'Snapped Within Me..'

Bobby Deol is one of the most-loved and celebrated Bollywood actors, after making a comeback with projects like Animal, The Ba***ds of Bollywood and more. While his acting career has always made headlines, the Barsaat actor has lately been grabbing attention for his personal life. Well, amid that, Bobby Deol recently opened up about his alcohol addiction and revealed that his wife, Tanya once threatened to leave him.

Did Bobby Deol’s wife, Tanya leave him due to his alcohol addiction?

Recently, Bobby Deol had a conversation with Aap Ki Adalat host, Rajat Sharma, during which he candidly spoke about his addiction with alcohol. For the unversed, when the actor was going through a tough phase, multiple rumours circulated claiming that his wife, Tanya had left him. However, it was never clarified. During the recent interaction, Bobby Deol addressed those rumours and confirmed that Tanya did threaten to leave him multiple times. The Housefull 4 actor was quoted as saying:

"Feels like I am hearing a joke. Women are so strong mentally and emotionally; my wife never left me. She would threaten to leave me if I didn’t stop drinking, but she never did, and I continued to drink. But that was never the case."

Bobby Deol’s children helped him out of his alcohol addiction

Further in the interview, Bobby Deol got real and shared details into the tough phase that he has experienced over the years. He explained that during the rough time, he drowned himself in alcohol just like his father and eventually got addicted. However, it was his wife, Tanya who stood strong and started working to manage all the expenses. Eventually, the turning point of Bobby Deol came when his children pointed it out and asked him why he was not working. In his words:

"When you give up, you get into self-pity. It’s human nature. You feel your world is over, no one likes you, and then you get addicted to a few things which help sedate you. Even my father loved to drink, and I too started drinking and got addicted. But my wife helped me out of it. If Tanya wasn’t in my life, I wouldn’t be sitting here today. She took care of our house financially. She was working and bearing all the expenses at home. It was when my children started asking why I was always sitting at home and their mother would go to the office that something snapped within me, and I decided to work on myself."

Inside Bobby Deol and Tanya Deol’s relationship

Before finding solace in Tanya, Bobby Deol had his share of relationships. One of his most talked-about romance was with Pooja Bhatt. The duo was reportedly linked during the mid-1990s, however, they eventually broke up. Later, in 1996, Bobby Deol tied the knot with Tanya. While not much information is available about their love story, it is worth mentioning that today, they are parents to two sons. The couple welcomed their first son, Aryaman in 2002 and two years later, in 2004, they welcomed their second son, Dharam. Despite being in the limelight, Bobby and Tanya have managed to keep their children away from media attention.

After making a strong comeback as a villain in projects like Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, the much respected actor, Bobby Deol is currently gearing up for the release of Bandar along with Sanya Malhotra and Saba Azad. Apart from this, he will also be seen in Alia Bhatt’s Alpha and Vijay Thalapathy’s Jana Nayagan.
