On September 8, 2019, the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Badminton Championship, PV Sindhu was felicitated for her achievement. At the same ceremony, Amitabh Bachchan had marked his presence with his son, Abhishek Bachchan and Suresh Oberoi came along his son, Vivek Oberoi and daughter-in-law, Priyanka Oberoi. At the red carpet, Abhishek and Vivek crossed each other’s paths and displaying a sense of maturity, they smiled at each other and then hugged it out. For the uninitiated, Vivek Oberoi is Abhishek Bachchan’s wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s ex-flame and sometime back, his tweet had created a stir in the media. On May 20, 2019, Vivek had connected the dots of his ex, Aishwarya’s love life through a tweet and had termed it with political jargons. In the tweet that could be read as “Haha! creative! No politics here....just life”, the first picture had Aishwarya and Salman which was termed as “Opinion poll”, the second picture in the collage had an image of Vivek and Aishwarya, which was denoted as “Exit Poll” and the third picture in the collage which read “Result”, had a picture of Aishwarya, Abhishek and Aaradhya, which had made Twitteratis bash the actor. While many industry people and celebrities had expressed their disappointment and anger over Vivek Oberoi’s controversial tweet about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s love life, it was a few minutes before Vivek's tweet that Amitabh Bachchan had taken to Twitter and posted a tweet, advising fans to use social media carefully and also warned the users about the repercussions of its improper usage. Call it a mere coincidence or uncanny, while Big B had posted the tweet at around 12.07 pm, Vivek’s tweet concerning Aishwarya’s past love life came around 1.23 pm. This came after Amitabh ji’s spine-chilling prediction about Sridevi’s death and also about the India-Australia ODI scores. And thus began people’s speculations that Amitabh Bachchan’s prediction is no less than a gospel of truth!
In a throwback interview, Vivek Oberoi had talked about Aishwarya Rai and the effect his linkup has had on his career. He had shared, “I'm man enough to deal with professional ups and downs. But I found it difficult to deal with the personal stuff. This is a world of masks. People who don't play characters on screen play off it." Vivek had further added, “That press conference changed my life and led me to where I am today. If that hadn't happened, maybe I'd have had success after success, lost the plot and gone so far that I'd never be able to return.”
Further talking about Aishwarya Rai, Vivek Oberoi had revealed, “Maybe I would have ended up with someone who wasn't right for me as a life partner. Everything that I am doing now, impacting lives, running free schools, hospitals... came from that dark, difficult period.” The actor had also shared, “I turned things around by earning blessings.
