Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s wedding was one of the most memorable celebrity weddings Bollywood witnessed in that year. Their union was magical and not to forget, everything was lavish and grand. But, as every great thing often gets a bit tainted with something highly unexpected, something similar happened to their wedding when there was a serious claim made against the then-groom, Abhishek for being already married.
On the very day of Abhishek’s wedding with Aishwarya on April 20, 2007, a model named Jhanvi Kapoor turned up right in front of the Bachchan home, Pratiksha to claim that Abhishek was already married to her. For the unversed, Jhanvi was a part of Abhishek’s film, Dus and as per her claims, it was during this time that the latter got involved with her. Moreover, she claimed that Abhishek was cheating on her by getting married again.

Her claims to disrupt Abhishek-Aishwarya’s wedding took another difficult turn when she further claimed that it was Aishwarya Rai who had stolen Abhishek from her, despite the fact that she was his wedded wife. After this, she went on to file a police complaint against Abhishek at the Juhu Police station in Mumbai. But due to lack of evidences, no case was registered.
While one by one all her attempts to spoil Abhishek’s wedding got failed, Jhanvi took a bloody turn when she attempted suicide by slitting her wrist. She was immediately taken to the hospital and the police had to restraint her due to baseless claims. Therefore, the police took her into custody on charges of attempting suicide under Section 309 of IPC. Later, she was given a bail only after paying a hefty penalty of Rs. 10,000.

Even after so many years of their marriage, Abhishek and Aishwarya’s love and dedication for one another has not changed a bit. Moreover, they are now proud parents to their sunshine, Aaradhya Bachchan. However, there was a time when several media reports spread the rumour that all was not well between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and the duo would part ways soon. When such a claim came to the former’s knowledge, he took a rough hand and slammed back at them. He clarified how he does not want the media to dictate him and his wife to live a peaceful life together. In his words:
“I know what the truth is and I know how far to take the media seriously. I am not going to allow a third party to dictate to me and Aishwarya how we should lead our lives. She knows how much I love her and I know how much she loves me.”
Abhishek Bachchan leaves no stone unturned to heap praises on his darling wife. Proof of the same was found when in a podcast interview with Ranveer Allahabadia, Abhishek recalled one perfect gift Aishwarya gave him while the duo was dating each other. Mentioning how it had a special connection with Abhishek’s favourite American rapper-cum-singer, Nelly, he mentioned:
“You know what she did for me once? We were dating and she got me a present. She got Nelly to autograph his mic. It's on my table. It's awesome."
