A friend of Hilton reportedly said, "Perez knows that something happened and he knows that things aren't good right now, but he doesn't have a lot of presence of mind. Viewers soon became alarmed by what they were seeing, as the graphic footage showed a stark naked and severely injured Perez, appearing to cut himself all over his body with a knife. Fearing the worst, many viewers contacted emergency services.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies immediately responded to Hilton's residence after receiving numerous reports. The officials prioritized de-escalation techniques while responding to what they described as a mental health crisis. Hilton was later safely transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical care.
The livestream has since been removed from TikTok, and Hilton's account was suspended. Authorities have described the incident as a mental health crisis. His family later said that Hilton's children were inside the house when he started to spiral, and his relatives acted quickly to protect them from witnessing "further trauma."
Hilton was placed under Florida's Baker Act, formally known as the Florida Mental Health Act. The law allows certain professionals and authorities to initiate an involuntary mental-health examination when a person is believed to meet the legal criteria for being a danger to themselves or others.
