The interview aired on CBS' 60 Minutes on September 20, 2026 (Sunday) night. Patrick discussed the triple-murder case, his lost children, and the online conspiracy theories about his involvement in their killings in the interview. He opened up about the heartbreak he experienced when he found his two kids dead and one in critical condition in his and Lindsay's former marital home.
Patrick recalled that his firstborn, eight-year-old son Callan Clancy was alive when he found the lifeless bodies of his other two kids, five-year-old Cora and three-year-old Dawson. Lindsay's then-husband shared that at that time, he had a brief hope that Callan would survive after being airlifted to Boston Children's Hospital.
Patrick recalled being devastated at the thought of becoming childless and desperately prayed for at least Callan's survival. He elaborated on it, saying:
"I remember just thinking, 'Just give me one. Just give me one kid, and I would raise him as best I could, and I would give him the best life I possibly could. I'd tell him about his brother and sister.'"
Patrick shared that Callan survived for four days and said, "I'm so grateful for those four days that I had with him." On being asked about the final conversation with his son in the hospital, Patrick mentioned, "I said, 'I'm so sorry.'" Recalling Callan's poignant last moments with him, the bereaved father stated, "I got to hold him. I got to lay down next to him. And he died in my arms."
The pain of losing his three kids was so intense that Patrick felt that he would perish before he turned 35. However, he gave life another chance by moving to Manhattan, New York, where he met his now-second wife, Rachel Danis. She has been his biggest support system since then and is helping him heal from his past wounds by planning to "start a family" with him soon. Recalling how he didn't think that he would live long after his young kids' deaths, Patrick Clancy stated:
"There was a time where I didn't think I would live to see my 35th birthday. And I was completely fine with it."
In the same 60 Minutes conversation, Patrick Clancy argued that his ex-wife, Lindsay was not a "monster" but rather a person who had committed some grave crimes due to being severely ill. He revealed that he forgave Lindsay Clancy after the killings, as he knew that she couldn't have done that in her normal state.
Patrick hit back at the headlines labeling Lindsay as "Killer Mom" and "Baby Murderer," claiming that it was her deteriorating mental health that drove her to commit the unthinkable. In his words:
"I saw headlines that said, you know, 'Killer Mom' and 'Baby Murderer,' 'Monster'. And none of them were accurate. I believe that it was her mental illness that caused that."
