Recently, Front Office Sports reporter explained that other NFL teams might mock Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel for their extramarital affair.
Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini's affair row has been making rounds on social media for nearly a month. It all began when Page Six shared a series of cosy photos, in which Mike and Dianna were spotted holding hands and hugging each other. The photos soon turned into a controversy, which led Dianna to resign as the NFL insider of The Athletic. Amid that, it looks like other NFL teams might use this scandal as a joke.
Recently, Front Office Sports reporter, Michael McCarthy revealed that the pin-drop silence regarding Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini in the NFL might end soon. According to him, they might give space to other teams to mock them and create jokes on them. Further, he explained that the teams can go very savage if they want to on their official social media handles. Michael McCarthy was quoted as saying:
"The cone of silence surrounding the Mike Vrabel–Dianna Russini story inside the NFL could give way to mockery when teams release their full 2026 game schedules in mid-May. The insults dreamed up by social media teams can be savagely funny."
It is worth mentioning that if Michael McCarthy’s words are to be believed, then the NFL team, Los Angeles Chargers are very capable of mocking Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel’s affair row. The silence in the controversy can be disturbed soon. For those unaware, over the years, Chargers have often joked about ongoing controversies on their social media handle. Such moves generate excitement online.
Michael McCarthy further noted that if teams try to crack jokes then Mike and Dianna will be at the centre. Even though the players of the New England Patriots have been supporting Mike Vrabel, there are high chances of Mike being cracked. Apart from Michael, Albert Breer also appeared on The Dan Patrick Show, during which he spoke about the controversy and shared that the situation has 'crossed the Rubicon', which means that the scandal is now stuck between sports reporting and celebrity-level attention.
Ever since the photos of Mike and Dianna have been leaked, the former has been receiving a lot of support from the owners of the NFL team as well as the players. A few days ago, Drake Maye and Hunter Henry came in support of Mike Vrabel and showered love on him, amid the controversy. They appreciated Mike for doing a ‘great job’ and hailed his leadership skills. Apart from players, recently an NFL insider shared that the owner of Patriots has no intentions of firing Mike Vrabel. In his words:
"His future’s not in jeopardy. What’s going to happen? Is Robert Kraft going to fire him for morals? I don’t think so. And the fans love him, the media loves him. He did a great coaching job last season."
Apart from this, in January 2026, the owner of the New England Patriots, Robert Kraft hailed Mike Vrabel’s leadership skills. Robert explained that he will never regret making Mike the head coach. He shared, "He has grown and matured in a way — he always had that hard side to him, which made him such a great player. But he’s been amazing with the culture in the locker room, how he has been able to connect."
In his personal life, Mike Vrabel has been married to Jen Vrabel for years. After the photos were leaked by Page Six, the head coach was sent to counseling. During the same, he also had an emergency meeting with his wife, Jen, in which they reportedly tried to solve their issues. It is worth noting that a few days ago, when Jen was spotted, she was seen wearing a wedding ring.
