Morgan Wallen and his influencer ex-girlfriend, KT Smith started dating in 2016 and got engaged only months later. Their whirlwind romance, however, didn't last long, and they split in just three years. After their breakup, Smith opened up about facing difficulties in her relationship with Morgan, particularly in the months leading up to their split. She wrote in her blog that the last year of her relationship with Morgan, which was in 2019, was a "rocky" one.
KT Smith alleged that even though they lived together, the singer was not always faithful to her. As per her, he cheated on her while he was on the road for his shows, and she stayed back. She further blamed his early fame as the root cause of his "bad decisions". Levying the allegations on Morgan Wallen, she wrote on her blog:
"We were off and on the third year, still talking 24/7 and seeing each other every time he was in town, and I would still go on the road with him. But being thrown into the spotlight at such a young age is obviously going to come with some bad decisions. He wasn't the most faithful."
As per her, Morgan's unfaithfulness led to a breach of trust between the duo and led to them entering "toxic cycles". They would break up, the singer would send apology texts to try to win her back, and the pattern would repeat. KT Smith also noted on Bunnie Xo's Dumb Blonde podcast that her engagement with Morgan happened hastily, early on in his career, which added unique pressures to their relationship. He was allegedly unable to manage his rising popularity and his personal life with Smith, leading to their split.
Morgan and Smith broke up for good in late 2019. Months later, they welcomed a son together named Indigo Wilder in July 2020. While the duo initially struggled to adjust to the new life, they have since developed a healthy relationship and successfully co-parent their child. In Bunnie Xo's show, Smith stated that her baby daddy has changed for good since Indigo's birth and called him a "great dad".
KT Smith further mentioned she has no regrets regarding Morgan becoming a better person only after their split. She wished the best for him and was glad to see his "radical change." When host Bunnie asked her if there was any chance of reconciliation, Smith said, "Absolutely not. No." Despite their relationship not having worked out, she was glad that the Country star was a good co-parent. Her exact words were:
"His life is extremely private, but what people don't see is that he has grown tremendously. I respect him so much as a person, and he's a great dad, and he lives a great life that's private, and he can still do what he does while keeping it private. And I think that's great. And I love that he's had that radical change. And it wasn't with me, but that's OK. He's a good dad, and we can co-parent well."
