More about Manny Fernandez

Manny Fernandez was at his best during the Miami Dolphins' Super Bowl VII win over the favoured Washington Redskins. He was also a part of their only perfect season in NFL history. At the time, he not only succeeded in sacking Washington quarterback, Billy Kilmer, but also had 17 total tackles. Irrespective of this, Manny was not named MVP and instead the honor went to safety, Jake Scott, who had two interceptions in the 14-7 win. Many of his teammates have spoken out about how Manny was the most deserving of the honour, with Nick Buoniconti writing:

“It was the game of his life – in fact, it was the most dominant game by a defensive lineman in the history of the game, and he would never be given much credit for it.”
