The controversy related to Mackenzie Shirilla, who is the convicted Ohio killer, has now reignited a lot of conversations on social media. This was all after social media users had shared an array of TikTok posts that went viral amid the aftermath of the car crash. For the unversed, Mackenzie Shirilla had killed her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and her friend, Davion Flanagan. The scrutiny has come at a time when The Crash has continued to gain significant attention and is widely discussed on social media.
Well, now that The Crash documentary surfaced on social media, there has been a lot of scrutiny related to the recent behaviour of Mackenzie Shirilla after the 2022 car crash, which killed her boyfriend and her friend. The case was a shocker as the 17-year-old drove the car right into a brick at a speed of 100 mph. She had been convicted of many charges, such as murder and was imprisoned for 15 years. However, has Mackenzie Shirilla made clips from the hospital after the release of The Crash?

Well, beyond Mackenzie Shirilla's ongoing courtroom trials, a report by Poprant mentioned that Mackenzie has shared certain social media posts after The Crash was released. The report revealed that after Mackenzie Shirilla was discharged from the hospital, she uploaded TikTok clips showing her in a hospital gown and neck brace. She was being wheeled out of the hospital building.

Well, the clips soon circulated on social media, and fans questioned the timing and tone of the videos and spoke of the alleged incident's severity. Well, the report further mentioned that videos from Mackenzie Shirilla's hospital room had also surfaced. It also included her posts showcasing gifts, balloons, flowers and celebrations revolving her 18th birthday while she was recovering.

The report mentioned that these videos posted by Mackenzie Shirilla seemed to be insensitive and added to the public criticism related to her online presence as her case is being presented. Mackenzie Shirilla, at the moment, is serving her sentence of 15 years after being convicted of killing her boyfriend and their mutual friend. Prosecutors had argued that the crash caused by Mackenzie Shirilla was actually deliberate, while she claimed to be suffering from a medical condition. She alleged of not remember what led to her collision.

Mackenzie Shirilla's recent TikTok videos reportedly caused controversy after she revealed of never spoken to the police. She had not testified in her trial, and in the documentary, it was alleged that she had conversations with varied fashion brands, modelling agencies also Instagram post the crash. In an interview with Netflix, Mackenzie claimed not to be a murderer and said:
"The conditions were tight: The crew had one hour, and, as viewers learn later, Mackenzie’s lawyer was present throughout. In the interview, Mackenzie maintains she has no memory of the period just before the crash. When pressed on the fact that some might find the lapse convenient, she clarifies, I’m not saying I’m innocent. I was a driver of a tragedy, but I’m not a murderer.''

The Poprant report further claimed that Mackenzie had revisited clips where she had appeared to be in contact with her ex-boyfriend via an Oujla board. Her fans had found the same to be very unsettling, while she claimed to have POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. Mackenzie had shared that in this condition, she used to face blackouts, and her legal team had presented this in the trial. She had shared:
"The most logical speculation seems to be a medical emergency. But as to how that would explain her retaining control of the vehicle, she hedges. I’m unsure, because I have no recollection of that morning, but I know nothing about it was intentional, because that’s not in my character.”
Mackenzie Shirilla never addressed what had happened exactly on the day of the crash. Speaking about her documentary titled, The Crash, well, the use of social media is what makes this film so prescient. So much of it is told and discussed and continues to be discussed on these online platforms. Her online presence was presented throughout the whole film because it played so much into this case.

Prosecutor, Tim Troup had introduced many videos of Mackenzie Shirilla when she was sentenced. Troup had felt that the videos had lacked remorse, and questions related to Mackenzie Shirilla's case had become the central aspect. Tudum, in a statement, had shared that there's something the prosecutor says in this film, that there’s a black hole at the centre of this case, and the black hole is what happened inside the car.
