In the Vogue livestream, Kim Kardashian revealed why she chose this look. The reality star admitted she chose to work with Allen Jones for the 2026 Met Gala because he is one of her favourite artists of all time. However, what made the collaboration even more interesting was that her outfit actually had a connection to the 1960s. Kim shared that the orange breastplate was actually made from the mould of a model from back in the day, meaning she truly used art from a legend to create her look, making it perfectly on theme. She was quoted as saying:

"One of my favourite artists is Allen Jones. We took his body plates that he started making in the 60s. This is actually a mould from a model in the 60s...we all worked together."
