The news came out nine years after the pair began dating after meeting at a Gucci store.

It was in 2016 when Georgina Rodriguez, through a chance encounter in a Gucci store in Madrid, kicked off her love story with Cristiano Ronaldo. Georgina was a sales assistant when, by chance, she met Ronaldo. For both of them, it was love at first sight, but Georgina felt more deeply for him.
Back in 2016, Ronaldo was playing for Real Madrid and had visited the Gucci store as a customer. As soon as Georgina saw the footballer, she was head-over-heels in love with him. That one encounter changed her entire life. Both Cristiano and Georgina are known to share their love for one another on social media.
Georgina had once stated that she was the girlfriend of the most followed man. During her Netflix series called I am Georgina, describing Ronaldo, Georgina had said, "Cristiano is great, he's a very normal guy. I dreamed of having a Prince Charming by my side, and now I have him."

Cristiano Ronaldo earlier had a five-year-long relationship with model Irina Shayk. Their bond ended in 2015, and after meeting Georgina at a Gucci store in 2016, the couple made their first public appearance at The Best FIFA Football Awards in 2017. By November 2017, Ronaldo and Georgina were blessed with their first daughter, whom they called Alana Martina. She also embraced a maternal role to his three older kids.
Describing the early days of their relationship Georgina revealed that Ronaldo used to pick her up from work in uber luxurious cars. This was when they had started seeing one another. In her words:
"Many times he'd come after work. He would come, I remember once, once in a Bugatti. My coworkers went crazy. They get there on the bus, and I would leave in a Bugatti. I mean people couldn't believe it."
It was on June 29, 2017, that Ronaldo welcomed twins- a baby boy and a girl via surrogacy. He had written on FB, "So happy to be able to hold the two new loves of my life". Ronaldo had named the twins Eva and Mateo. Weeks after the twins were born, Georgina was pregnant with Ronaldo's fourth child, whom they named Alana Martina.
Georgina had called herself very family-oriented and loved to surround herself with those who inspired her to be a better person every day. It was in 2018 when Ronaldo and Georgina first sparked engagement buzz. She was spotted wearing a diamond ring amid speculations that Ronaldo had proposed to her. The couple had not responded to the gossip.
It was in 2021 when Ronaldo and Georgina were again expecting twins. Ronaldo had even mentioned the gender of their twins. Ronaldo had stated that he and Georgina were expecting a baby boy and a girl. In 2022, Ronaldo revealed that one of their newborn twins passed away. Their daughter Bella Esmeralda had survived.
From 2021 to 2025 Ronaldo and Georgina faced a difficult time. This was after one of their newborn twins passed away; it was not easy for them to break the news to their other kids. Ronaldo, in an interview with PEOPLE had shared:
"After one week I say, 'Let's be upfront, and let's be honest with the kids, let's say that, Ángel, which is his name, he went to heaven.' The kids understand; we had shouts around the table, and they say, 'Daddy, I did this for Ángel,' and they point to the sky. Which I like the most because he's part of their lives. I am not gonna lie to my kids, I say the truth, which was a difficult process."
It was in August 2025 that Georgina displayed her engagement ring for the first time. In her caption, she had mentioned, "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives". Her engagement ring was of 37 carats and reportedly, back then, cost USD 5 million.
