This year, on May 25, 2026, Demi Lovato and Jordan "Jutes" Lutes completed one year of marriage. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Demi opened up about her life after her marriage to Jutes. She shared that with every passing day, her love for Jutes is growing. Demi mentioned that communication is the key factor behind their successful marriage. Explaining it further, Demi said:
"When you’re able to communicate with each other what you need, what you want, it creates a safe space for the two of you to share your feelings with one another. My love for Jordan grows every single day, and I’ve never been so happy in my life. So I think communication is a big part of that."
Ahead of her big day, on February 14, 2025, Demi shared her excitement to get hitched. Taking to her Instagram handle, Demi dropped a love-filled post for Jordan. She wrote, "Jordan, I cannot wait to marry you! The past 3 years have been the best 3 years of my life, and I have you to thank for that. I’m obsessed with your heart, your love and your light. I can’t wait to grow old with you and start a family together. Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life. I love you, honey!"

Demi and Jutes first crossed paths in January 2022 while working together on the former’s song, Substance. Jutes helped write that song and several other songs for her album, Holy Fvck. The couple made their relationship public in August 2022, when Jutes posted a heartfelt message on Demi’s 30th birthday. Sharing a carousel of photos and videos of them, Jutes wrote, "I’m so proud of you for not only surviving everything you’ve been through but coming out on top and becoming your healthiest, happiest, sweetest self."
It was Jutes who proposed to Demi on December 16, 2023. He went down on one knee and proposed to Demi with a pear-shaped diamond solitaire ring. Showing off the engagement ring, Demi wrote, "My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you. Every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true, and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives." Gushing over her relationship with Jutes, Demi told Teen Vogue:
"I live and breathe for our connection. Everything I do, I wish was with him. I see my future with him. I see growing old with him. I’m not ready to give up my alone time with Jordan, but I don’t even want to share their faces in pictures on Instagram when they’re born. I want them to have that anonymity. I share a lot with the world, and I just want some things to be mine. Yeah, I’ve given a lot."
The duo got married on May 25, 2026, at an estate in Santa Barbara. Back then, a source told US Weekly that Demi described Jutes as her safe place. During a 2025 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Demi said, "I've definitely been in relationships before, and thought I had been in love, but I've never loved like this, and I'm going to cry. I never knew that you could be with someone whose love could continue to grow for every single day."
