Mina Chan's last post apologising to ENHYPEN fan base surfaces
Mina Chan faced the ugly side of social media bullying. She was so shaken by the harassment that she preferred ending her life. As per media reports, Mina died by suicide in Seoul, and authorities found her body in the early hours of August 5, 2026. As per reports, the harassment started after Mina Chan attended an ENHYPEN concert in late July 2026. She was a huge fan of Sunoo and Ni-ki.
During the concert, she had asked Sunoo to pass on the sunflower prop to Ni-ki during their performance as she wanted to create a fan moment. This situation led to her being criticized by the fandom of the band. Further, the 20-year-old singer, during his livestream, expressed his anger over attendees for prioritizing personal interactions over enjoying the concert.
While the 20-year-old singer never named Mina Chan, people assumed that the remark was for her, as she had shared photos of their interaction with the members on social media, and expressed her opinions on the same. Days before her passing, Mina took to her X account and apologised to the singer and the band.
In the long note, which was written in Japanese, Mina apologised for her behaviour, which she exhibited during the event. She further stated that she ruined the atmosphere by prioritizing her own desire to meet Ni-ki. A part of the note, when translated to English, read:
"By attending ENHYPEN's fansigns multiple times, I had deluded myself into thinking I was closer to the members than I actually was. I deeply regret the rude behavior I exhibited in America. I ruined the atmosphere of the venue by prioritizing my own desire to meet Niki over the precious time Niki, who loves America so much, deserved. I'm truly sorry."
Despite apologizing, she continued to face the online bullying. As per a report, Mina was livestreaming from her residence in Seoul, when fans reportedly urged authorities to intervene, when the police reached her residence they found her dead at around 5:33 a.m.
Mina's younger sister confirmed her death on Instagram and stated that the influencer had passed away. Talking about Mina, her sister called her kind and warm to everyone she met, and asked people to pray for her. The post read:
"My beloved older sister, who was always kind and warm to everyone she met, has passed away. I kindly ask that you keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers."
Soon netizens shared their opinion on X, and one user revealed that Mina was left upset during the event as Sunoo grabbed the flower she had brought for Ni-ki, "What began the hate: Mina attended the Blood Saga Tour where she had brought flowers for Ni-ki but Sunoo ended up grabbing them. She became visibly upset, demanding the flowers to be given to Ni-ki."
Another user commented, "Ni-ki weaponized his platform and sent a target on a fan’s back. When an idol speaks out on live, it unleashes a wave of mass hate. One fan is gone because he couldn’t consider the weight of his words, and swept-under-the-rug silence won't erase that."
