Hilarie Burton is a beloved American actress and TV personality. According to reports, she was born on July 1, 1982, in Sterling, Virginia. She is the eldest of four siblings. She attended Park View High School, after which she went to New York University and Fordham University, graduating in 2004.
Hilarie rose to fame in 2000 when she succeeded in winning a competition on MTV’s Total Request Live (TRL). Following this, Hilarie was asked to stay on as a full-time video jockey. In 2003, Hilarie reportedly left TRL to pursue acting.
After landing the role of subversive cheerleader ‘Peyton Sawyer’ that same year on One Tree Hill, she stayed on the show till 2009. Her breakout role on the show quickly became a fan favorite, following which she went on to star in more hit series like Lethal Weapon, White Collar, and Grey's Anatomy.

Coming to Hilarie’s relationship with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, the duo was introduced to each other by their two famous friends, Jensen Ackles and Danneel Ackles. For those unaware, Danneel had previously starred alongside Hilarie in One Tree Hill while Jensen had played Jeffrey’s son in Supernatural.
Eventually, they set up Jeffrey and Hilarie on a blind date at an Irish pub in Los Angeles. Twelve years later, the actress fondly looked back on their first date and wrote on Instagram:
"Twelve years ago today, @jensenackles and @danneelackles512 made me go on a blind date. The smokin hot @jeffreydeanmorgan showed up, and it was game over. Here's to being crazy kids, living all over the country, giving birth to two doppelgangers, getting gray hair, and still being totally inappropriate together."
As their relationship progressed, Jeffrey and Hilarie welcomed their first child, a son named Augustus “Gus” Morgan, on March 14, 2010. They initially kept the news a secret for the first couple of months and only revealed it later that year, in August 2010. Hilarie said that they were really happy to become parents and added that she wanted to protect her family like a ‘mama wolf.’
The second time, however, the couple confirmed the pregnancy beforehand when Jeffrey Morgan placed his hand on Hilarie’s baby bump at the 2017 Emmy Awards. They welcomed their second child, daughter, George Virginia, on February 16, 2018. Jeffrey had shared that they named their daughter after an episode of Bonanza titled “A Girl Named George.”
A year after welcoming their daughter and after a decade of dating, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton tied the knot in secret ceremony on October 5, 2019. It was Hilarie who first shared the happy news on Instagram when he posted a black-and-white image of herself kissing the actor. She wrote in the caption:
"We've lived as husband and wife for a decade. We've built a family and a farm and found our community. For years, publications have reported that we got married in 2014 or 2015 and that I've been married and divorced before. All untrue. But WE knew our truth. So it felt silly to try and correct anything."
