Most recently, he was spotted at The Nostalgia Con in Orlando, Florida, where he reunited with several of his Full House co-stars. What makes the reunion more special is that it comes just months after Dave became cancer-free.
Dave even participated in a TikTok dance trend with John Stamos, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber. Amid the much-awaited reunion, here's a look back at when Dave Coulier opened up about his breakup with Alanis Morissette.
Dave Coulier looked back at his relationship with Alanis Morissette during a radio appearance
During an interview with Jim Norton and Sam Roberts on Sirius XM, Dave Coulier looked back on his romantic history. The actor particularly looked back at his relationship and eventual breakup with singer Alanis Morissette. Dave claimed that he and Alanis were still together when she was writing her hit album, Jagged Little Pill. The album won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. However, before the album was finished, Alanis and Dave parted ways.
After their breakup, Dave recalled that he was driving when he heard the popular song, You Oughta Know, from the album playing on the radio. He shared, “And I’m like, ‘Wow, this is a really cool hook.’ And then I start hearing the voice. I’m like, ‘Wow, this girl can sing.’ And I had no idea that this was the record.”
As he was hearing the song, it didn't take long for Dave to realize that Alanis was actually singing about him and their relationship before their split. Upon realization, Dave unexpectedly went and bought his ex-girlfriend’s whole record. He said:
“I’m listening to the lyrics going, ‘Ooh, oh no. Oh, I can’t be this guy.’ And I went to the record store, bought the CD and I went and I parked on a street and I listened to the whole record.”

The comedian added that he found a lot of familiar stuff in the song that they talked about. Giving an example, he said, “Like (the lyric) ‘Your shake is like a fish.’ I’d go, ‘Hey, dead fish me,’ and we’d do this dead fish handshake…I started listening to it, and I thought, ‘Ooh, I think I may have really hurt this woman.’”
At present, Dave Coulier revealed that there are no hard feelings between him and Alanis Morissette despite their breakup and him being the subject of her song. In fact, he revealed that they reconnected a few years after their split. He called her “lovely” and recalled how she visited him and his sister when the matter was dying. He shared:
“When my sister Sharon was dying with cancer, Alanis was living in Toronto. My sister was in Detroit. She actually drove to Detroit with her guitar and sat with my sister playing songs and singing to my sister in the hospital. That’s the kind of human being she is. So, I’ve never had anything bad to say about her. She’s lovely.”
Dave Coulier’s reunion with the Full House cast
Dave Coulier and his Full House co-stars reunited during the August 7-9 weekend. The actor shared the same on an Instagram post on August 10, 2026. In the post, he claimed that he and John Stamos “adopted” a baby pig and rode a camel at The Nostalgia Con. Later, in a TikTok that John shared, he, along with Dave, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barbe, danced to the song, Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now). It looked like they all had the time of their life, with John writing in the caption, “Threw our necks out for this.”
