Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleBrad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have often grabbed headlines for their relationship. The duo were married for five years, from 2014 to 2019. However, apart from their relationship, it was their highly publicised legal battle involving the French winery, Chateau Miravel, that has grabbed a lot of attention. For those unaware, Brad had filed a lawsuit against Angelina in 2022 for selling her share of the winery without seeking permission from him.
While the actress had countersued at the time, it was on June 24, 2026, that Brad won the case, three years after it was filed. At present, it seems that Angelina is looking forward to her upcoming civil trial with her ex-husband over Chateau Miravel.
Brad Pitt has scored a major win in the long-running legal battle over Chateau Miravel, but Angelina Jolie has not given up all hope as she is looking forward to her upcoming civil trial in the case. According to reports, the trial is scheduled to be held next year, in 2027. Speaking about the rulings, Angelina's lawyer said during an interview on June 25, 2026, that they “have made no impact on the merits of the case.” The lawyer added:
“At this point, Ms. Jolie is just looking forward to defeating the case at trial next year so that their family can finally focus their energies on healing and moving on.”
For those who don't know, Brad Pitt had claimed that his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, had sold her winery shares to a subsidiary of The Stoli Group, which is known as Tenute del Mondo. Yuri Shefler, the Russian expatriate billionaire who runs The Stoli Group, said in a motion at the time that he did not have much of a role in Tenute's negotiations when they decided to purchase Chateau Miravel. A lower court agreed with Yuri and ruled that Brad Pitt had not submitted any evidence proving Yuri's intentional involvement in California business activities to benefit from them.
However, another twist in the legal battle came on June 24, 2026, when the California Court of Appeals reversed its earlier ruling on the part that Yuri Shefler paid in the transaction. They found that it “defies credulity” that he would risk nearly USD 40 million on a transaction in which he had no involvement. It has been revealed that a motion to compel Yuri's disposition is scheduled for early next month, on July 8, 2026.
A source close to Angelina Jolie revealed that the only reason she decided to sell her part of the Chateau Miravel to The Stoli Group is that she expected them to be a worldwide distribution partner. She believed that they could help grow the business for the benefit of her and Brad's children, who stood to inherit the actor's portion. The source added:
“The truth is that Pitt's ego and obsession for control got in the way. Brad refused to work with Stoli simply because Angie chose them, not him.”
Meanwhile, a source who is close to Brad revealed that the court victory "is another step towards transparency over what took place." They alleged that Yuri Shefler was a partner whom Angelina chose, fully knowing that Brad did not want him involved in the business. Another insider claimed that Angelina had initially agreed that Brad would have first right of refusal before the sale of the winery, but the former "sold to Shefler anyway."
