Is Ariana Grande Getting Back With Ex Ricky Alvarez Amid Breakup? Duo's Recent Outing Sparks Buzz

Ariana Grande recently parted ways with her longtime boyfriend, Ethan Slater. For those unaware, the duo were together for nearly three years before they decided to break up a couple of months ago. Amid this, what shocked fans the most was how Ariana was spotted with one of her ex-boyfriends. 

Is Ariana Grande rekindling her romance with her ex-boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez?

Ariana Grande was recently seen out in Texas before a concert in Austin alongside her ex-boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. Their outing has not only sent fans into a frenzy but also sparked rumours about them possibly rekindling their romance. However, sources close to the situation have revealed that it's not what it looks like. The sources claimed that Ariana, who turned 33 today, on June 26, 2026, has friends in Austin for her birthday, with Ricky being one of them. The duo were photographed together in a restaurant, but the sources insist that there is nothing romantic going on between the two at present. 

Many might not be aware, but Ariana is actually in Austin for her Eternal Sunshine tour, and the sources shared that she was also seen out and about taking pictures with her fans. Coming to Ricky, he had been Ariana's backup dancer on her Honeymoon tour in 2015. They dated for a bit, and later the singer gave him a shoutout in Thank U, Next, where she sings about how he listens and laughs over the songs she had written about him. It is worth noting that during one of her more recent performances, Ariana had tweaked the original lyrics, singing instead:

“Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now they still kinda slap.” 

Ethan Slater is ‘still in love’ with Ariana Grande 

While it has been a few months since Ariana and Ethan broke up, neither of them has publicly revealed the exact reason why they decided to part ways. However, a source close to Ethan claimed that the Wicked actor is “still very much in love” with his ex-girlfriend. In fact, they think that there is a very high chance that Ariana and Ethan might eventually decide to get back together. The source was quoted as saying: 

"There's still a deep connection between them. Don't be surprised if they're together again before summer is over. Ethan is still very much in love. If Ariana leaves the door open even a crack, he'll walk right through it."

The source further said that Ariana and Ethan are ‘inseparable’, meaning that they could reunite any day, even before fans realise it. Giving an example, the source stated that if people start betting on the duo's relationship, it would be better for them to put money on them getting back together. In their words:

“They can be inseparable one week, taking space the next, and back together before anyone catches up. If there is a bet, then the smart money is on a reunion.”

As we mentioned, it was on June 8, 2026, that a source close to Ariana and Ethan confirmed that the former couple had parted ways a few months ago. At the time, they decided to keep it private as they did not want to make a scene out of it. They added that despite the breakup, Ethan and Ariana have continued to remain friends and will always support each other. The source shared, “It's amicable, they gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways. They are still friends and very supportive of one another.”
