As per the latest reports, Brittany Boltinhouse's lawyer threatened legal action against the organizers for their “wrongful and unjustified” decision. In a video posted to Brittany Boltinhouse’s Instagram handle, an attorney for the former pageant queen, Patrick Mincey, said that he has been hired to represent Brittany “in connection with anticipated legal action arising from the wrongful and unjustified stripping of the Miss North Carolina USA 2026 title.”
Mincey revealed that he would be investigating the circumstances leading to her dethroning, which, according to him, will be ‘national in scope’. He also revealed that the investigation has already begun and evidence has been unearthed. Revealing how the organizers have no legal basis for their decision to strip Brittany of her title, Mincey shared:
“Focused on one objective: uncovering and presenting the full truth behind what appears to be another troubling example of cancel culture directed at a young woman because of her deeply held religious convictions and publicly expressed political beliefs.”
Brittany Boltinhouse revealed the reason behind stripping her of the Miss North Carolina USA title
Brittany Boltinhouse was crowned on June 28, 2026, but within six weeks, her title was taken back on August 5, 2026. Pageant organizers from A Blaize Productions and the Miss USA Organization shared that "this decision was not made lightly" and "followed a thorough review." After Brittany’s dethroning, the first runner-up, Myla Hadley, has been named Miss North Carolina USA 2026.
Days after she was stripped of her title, Brittany, in an interaction with Carolina Journal editor-in-chief Donna King, spoke about the reason behind her dethroning. Speaking about the same, she shared:
“I’m very much at peace, and I’m actually glad it happened to me and not some other young lady that, you know, maybe just probably wouldn’t make it through what I’m going through right now. The scrutiny, my family behind it as well. But I will say that I’m very much at peace and I see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know who I am and I know what I can become.”
Going further in the interview, Brittany revealed that she was not allowed to speak about what led to her losing the title as she had signed an agreement with a “confidentiality clause”. In the same interview, she stated that one’s thoughts are not just restricted to a single beauty pageant and retorted, “All I can say is that I think and believe that my title was ripped from me because of my beliefs.”
Boltinhouse was stripped of the title after event organizers said her conduct had violated Miss USA standards “over an extended period of time.” The North Carolina news outlet NCBeat reported that Boltinhouse’s resurfaced social media posts showed her freely using the N-word under the username Sosa the Stallion between 2017 and 2019.
