'Subedaar' OTT Release Date, When And Where To Watch Anil Kapoor's Film And What To Expect From It?

Veteran Bollywood actor, Anil Kapoor, who is best-known for his energy and strong performance, is currently grabbing attention for his upcoming action-drama, Subedaar. For the unversed, the film, directed by Suresh Triveni is all set to release very soon. It is worth mentioning that Anil Kapoor will be playing the role of a retired army officer, who is forced to fight another intense battle. When and where to watch Anil Kapoor’s Subedaar on OTT?

Anil Kapoor will be returning with a bang with the action-thriller film, Subedaar. For the unversed, the film is all set to premiere from March 5, 2026, on the OTT giant, Amazon Prime Video. It is worth mentioning that viewers will need a subscription to the platform. Talking about Anil Kapoor, he was last seen in the film, Fighter, alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. 

What to expect from action-thriller, Subedaar?

If reports are to be believed, Anil Kapoor will be playing the role of 'Arjun Maurya', an army officer, who retires after years of serving the nation. After retirement, he tries to live a peaceful life in his village. However, 'Arjun' soon realises that living the life of a civilian is not very easy. Eventually, 'Arjun's' life is disturbed when a ruthless person named 'Prince' (played by Aditya Rawal), starts controlling the area. As his te**or increases, 'Arjun's' family is threatened, which forces him to return to action and defeat him.

Apart from an intense battle, viewers can expect an emotional layer as the film will most likely feature the strained relationship of 'Arjun' and his daughter, 'Shyama' (played by Radhikka Madan). Due to years of military discipline, the emotional distance between the two increases and they grow apart. Apart from them, the film also stars Mona Singh, Saurabh Shukla, Faisal Malik, Khushboo Sundar and more. It is worth mentioning that the film is directed by Suresh Triveni.

When Anil Kapoor opened up about his role in Subedaar

A few days ago, Anil Kapoor appeared at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, during which he opened up about his role in the upcoming film. The much-loved actor shared that the director of the film went to multiple places and visited several people before writing the film. Anil Kapoor also stated that after the first narration of the film, he felt an instant emotional connection, which made him say ‘yes’. He was quoted as saying:

"Subedaar is the story of a retired fauji and about his dignity, emotional depth and how he is dealing with his civil life. His story is based in the heartland India so we shot for it in Agra, Kanpur, etc. Our filmmaker went to all these places first, met these people and then he wrote the film. After that he shared the story with me and I started feeling emotionally connected to it. I found the emotional layer to the character."

Further, Anil Kapoor revealed how he prepared for the role. During the same conversation, the Mr. India actor appreciated the director of the film and shared that he wanted his director to mold him. He described himself as a ‘director’s actor’. In his words:

"Earlier while shooting a film, we used to visit the real places. In my Pune institute too we used to visit the archives to watch old films like Satyajit Ray’s, etc. But today it is different. At the tip of your finger you have all the information on your phone, etc. You can get any info you want. The whole planet is in front of you. Now you can research all about UP people from your phone and get into the skin of the character by learning their dialect. This is how I prepared for Subedaar. I try my best to be as malleable as possible, like a clay. I want my director to mould me. I am a director’s actor."
