Dear soon-to-be brides, if you are still pondering over the perfect jewellery pieces to be adorned on your wedding day, take a cue from your favourite Bollywood divas. Of course, you have ample of reel-life Bollywood brides to have a look at, but here we tell you, how equally stunning our Bollywood actresses looked at their real-life wedding.
So, take a look and get inspired by their style. Just add a dash of your own personality along with their style statements, to get a perfect look for the most important event of your life.
One of the most beautiful women on the planet chose to be heavily bejewelled on her wedding day. The result turned out to be mesmerising. Aishwarya looked stunning in precious jewels and gems. Gold Kundan jewellery made this beautiful bride sparkle like a princess. But one piece that particularly stood out was her grand neckpiece. The layered Kundan haars looked stunning on this gorgeous diva. Adding to the beauty of the heavier neckpiece, were two longer Kundan haar, with an emerald drop.
All the three together completed a sort of rani haar look. Her entire bridal look was that of a quintessential Mangalorean bride. Kundan comes in various colours and sizes. So, pick up colours that match with your wedding dress. And, if you are going for a golden look, like Aishwarya, then just make sure that you pick the jewellery that suits your face.
P.S.: Take a look at Abhishek Bachchan, who too, is wearing an elaborate pearl neckpiece with an emerald drop, which is perfectly complementing his bride's look. Now, this is called a picture-perfect couple, right?
The svelte and sensuous Shilpa Shetty was at her best as a bride. She chose to keep it traditional and was decked up with jewels. In a typical Mangalorean style, from her maang teeka, armlet and the kamarbandh, everything was in its right place. Her gajra added to her jewelled look. What we loved in her look, apart from the heavy jadau neckpiece, was her Kundan kamarbandh and bajubandh. The traditional Kundan kamarbandh with emerald drops in it highlighted this diva’s svelte figure further. And, her peacock-shaped bajubandh looked stunning too.
One suggestion we would like to add- opt for a kamarbandh, only if you choose to show your waistline. At times, kamarbandh can end up looking a tad shabby on a very heavily draped waist.
Vidya Balan kept her look traditionally South Indian and was decked in intricate gold temple jewellery. Her neckpieces were understated yet resplendent, and the matching earrings flattered her look further. Her wedding jewellery was designed by Amrapali. Gold designs look beautiful, but if opting for a heavy necklace, go for light earrings, just like Vidya did. This one is for those brides who want to go for a royal look yet keep it simple and elegant.
Esha Deol completed her look with beautiful gold jewellery and looked pretty in her heavy Kanjeevaram saree. Since she had a temple-style wedding, she chose jewellery designs keeping the traditional theme in mind. What stood out from her entire look was her matha patti, which was the highlight of her jewelled look. The ruby-studded matha patti, matching her lehenga, complemented her look. While most Bollywood brides play safe with a polki or Kundan matha patti, Esha went for something that matched her bridal outfit.
Well, a word of advice- if you too are planning to match your matha patti with your outfit, like Esha did, then instead of indulging in a heavy one, go for a lighter option that you would be able to wear again later on as well.
Ayesha Takia’s bridal look can just make you imitate her as it is. The stunning bride looked classy in her jewellery choice. Diamond-laded Ayesha looked beautiful in the stunning jewellery pieces she wore. Her diamond necklace stood out amongst the jewels she wore. A careful look at her jewellery choice tells that she chose only diamonds and did not mix it with gold or Kundan. Her maang-teeka suited her face type and looked beautiful. You too can go for an all-diamond look, just like hers.
Kai Po Che! fame actress and everyone’s very dear; Amrita Puri surprised one and all when she tied the knot with long-time beau, Imrun Sethi who is a restaurateur. Theirs was a secret wedding in Bangkok on November 11, 2017. Amrita too had an Anand Karaj ceremony and looked like a dream on her wedding. She sported ace couturier Sabyasachi Mukerji golden-coloured lehenga. But what made everyone go crazy for her bridal look was her heavy and stunning jewellery. Right from the necklace to the jhumkas to the teeka, everything about her bridal jewellery was on-point!
No other bride who could have looked as breathtakingly beautiful as Bipasha Basu did on her wedding day. And we are not saying it for the sake; it truly is a fact! Bipasha Basu broke many hearts as she tied the knot with co-star and her Mr Right Karan Singh Grover in April 2016. The actress dazzled in her royal Rajashthani jadau and polki jewellery. She wore a Kundan and polki neckpiece, which was studded with green emeralds. Enhancing and topping up was her maang teeka, nose ring with a string and jhumkas. And yes, how can we forget to appreciate her choice of haath phools studded with pearls, gold and polki.
December 11, 2017, is a date to remember as it rang the day when one of the most sizzling and beautiful divas of Bollywood got hitched that too with the most eligible cricketers of India. The mention is of none other than Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli. Anushka dazzled in jaw-dropping jewellery pieces at her wedding. Anushka Sharma wore Sabyasachi Mukherjee designed matha patti, layered necklaces and jhumkas in jadau, pearls and pink spinel. Yes, there is no doubt about the fact that the statement pieces are giving us serious jewellery envy.
Bollywood diva and much-applauded fashionista of the showbiz world, Sonam Kapoor, tied the knot with long-time boyfriend, Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018. On her wedding day, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja chose perfect jewellery that was suiting her red dulhan outfit. The actress sizzled in her layered gold jewellery, which was studded with coloured stones, adding a little drama to it. Not just this, she even nailed her elegant golden choker look. She went on to wear a beautiful pearl-studded matha patti dismissing the nose ring. And yes, how can we forget that beautiful red chooda!
Neha Dhupia walked down the aisle with her best friend and actor, Angad Bedi, in a close-knit Gurudwara wedding. Neha and Angad’s Anand Karaj ceremony took place on May 10, 2018, and their wedding pictures are so beautiful to describe in words. Neha looked no less than a queen in her Anita Dongre pastel pink lehenga. Though her entire look was ethereal what caught everyone’s attention was her exquisite Kundan jewellery that had a pretty heavy choker necklace, jhumkas and a sleek maang teeka. She undoubtedly got a big thumbs-up for her minimalistic yet royal look.
In the end, we would just tell you not to get awed or overwhelmed by the stunning looks of these Bollywood divas. You are a diva in your own right, so feel beautiful and sparkle like one.
