Fashionista and Veere Di Wedding actress, Sonam Kapoor has been in the news quite a lot lately. And those who have been following the Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding trends online know that it’s for the obvious reasons of her highly anticipated marriage. Yes, no matter how much tight-lipped she must be about her relationship status, we all know that she has been dating, Anand Ahuja. And it seems that the day isn’t far when the world will witness Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding. As per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding will take place on May 11 and May 12 in Geneva, Switzerland. A source in the report was quoted as saying, "The date and venue for the wedding have been locked and mass bookings for flights are presently underway. Her dad Anil Kapoor (READ: Anil Kapoor Love Story) is personally making phone calls to invite guests. There will be sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, followed by a traditional Hindu wedding."
Sonam was recently in Geneva for a brand commitment, and that's when she decided that it's the perfect place to get wed. The report also suggests, "The nuptials will be preceded by an engagement ceremony attended by the family’s inner circle but the venue for that is presently not known." According to an earlier report in Pinkvilla, a birdie claimed that Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding will take place post the release of her film Veere Di Wedding. It must be noted here that the film has also been co-produced by Sonam’s sister, Rhea Kapoor whom Sonam respects a lot.
Speaking of Rhea Kapoor, there were reports last month that she is planning a surprise honeymoon vacation for Sonam and her jiju. Other media reports were quoted as saying, “Sonam’s wedding will be a grand affair and, although, Rhea is quite a diva, she wants to be at her fittest during the celebration. Goes without saying, she is elated at the match and has begun eating right and is working out to get the svelte figure. She determined to be in perfect shape.”
Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s wedding rumours sparked off when the netizens learnt of a media report which suggested that the wedding will be in April. This is what it was quoted, “April it is and in Jodhpur. Sonam and Anand will marry this summer in what is going to be a small, private wedding with 300 odd guests. Although the couple has warded off all rumours about getting married saying celebrity watchers were mistaking the family’s preparations for her cousin Mohit Marwah’s upcoming wedding for her own nuptials but they can barely hide it any longer.”
However, when Sonam was later asked about her wedding, she replied, “Unfortunately, I do not talk about my personal life. I have never commented on that and will not do now. Speculations are rife but that is okay. I won’t ever discuss it.”
Sonam also refuted her and Anand Ahuja’s wedding rumours owing to her professional commitments. She recently said, “Veere Di Wedding will release in May and then before that I have Padman and then Dutt too, where do I have time for anything else? I will soon begin shooting for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next in February, March.”
