The Ambanis are always in the news for every move they make and the latest one is the Ambanis’ team, Mumbai Indians in the latest season of Indian Premier League (IPL). It was on May 12, 2019, during the finals of IPL 2019, when Mumbai Indians won the winning title for the 4th time, beating Chennai Super Kings by a mere 1 run. The entire Ambani clan comprising of Akash Ambani and his wife, Shloka Mehta, Anant Ambani and his ladylove, Radhika Merchant and their mother, Nita Ambani was present for the finale. In an interview with India Today after their big win, Nita Ambani shared that she was so nervous that she didn’t have the courage to watch the last over. She had shared, “The last over, definitely not [didn't watch]. And definitely not the last ball. I was just going by the cheers of the fans to known what's happening.” Praising the team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, Nita ji further added, “All the times Rohit has been the captain in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019. At Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta’s engagement ceremony, the multi-talented Nita Ambani had turned poetess for her son and then soon-to-be daughter-in-law and had written a heartfelt poem in ode to the newly-engaged Ambani couple. In an interview to an online portal, Shloka Mehta had spoken about keeping pace with her relationship with Akash Ambani, despite their hectic schedules. She was quoted as saying, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together. While Akash Ambani had revealed, “I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married, she is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person”. In another interview with a leading media portal, Nita Ambani, post-Akash and Shloka’s proposal had said, “I have known Shloka since she was four and we are all delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts”. A source close to the family had also revealed, “Shloka is a very charming girl, extremely cultured and it’s difficult to say which of the two families is lucky with this upcoming marriage”.
