It was a few months before Zain Kapoor’s birth in 2018 when Shahid Kapoor had talked about buying a duplex in upscale Worli, Mumbai. And one year later, it looks like this awesome-foursome Kapoor-Rajput family is all set to move into their new ‘home sweet home’. Since July 2018, Shahid and his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor have been providing some BTS glimpses of their Worli home, and now, we can’t wait for them to share proper pictures of their new abode.
On August 26, 2019, Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had hosted ‘A Very Hungry Caterpillar’ themed combined birthday bash for Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor. And if the latest reports are to be believed, the celebration time is not yet over for this Kapoor-Rajput family. With Zain’s first birthday coming around, Shahid and Mira have received a special update on their new abode! A source close to the development has informed the Mumbai Mirror that Shahid and Mira’s Worli house is ready to move in!
A Mumbai Mirror report quoted a source as saying, “Shahid had been looking to move into a space that would be a better fit for his family of four. And this over 8000 square-foot apartment is expected to be ready for possession by the year-end.” Shahid and Mira’s new abode is a stone’s throw away from Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s apartment, and even, Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech and Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma live in the neighbourhood.
The source had also stated, “Shahid was looking for an unrestricted view of the city, and the 500 square-feet balcony in the new house faces the Bandra-Worli sea link, offering a great view of the city’s skyline. The apartment complex also features indoor facilities like spa, swimming pool, gym and ballrooms.” Revealing the details about their new house, Shahid had shared in an interview with the DNA, “I have bought a new home in Central Mumbai. It will be a year-and-a-half, perhaps even two, before we do the interiors and move in there. However, it’s an investment that I needed to make. I have a much smaller home in Juhu and with two children, the requirement of the family has changed.”
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had purchased their new flat keeping their children, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor in mind. Shahid and Mira’s new home will have a garden for Misha! Elaborating on the same, Shahid had remarked, “The new home that Mira and I have booked has a garden and other amenities like a gymnasium, etc. Today, our requirement is having a safe place for Misha where she can play with others. We want her to be with kids of her age because that’s how she will have a regular childhood.” (Also Read: Neha Dhupia Twins With Baby Girl, Mehr Dhupia Bedi, Calls Her The Best Gift She Could Have Asked For)
Speaking about his previous house-hunting spree, Shahid Kapoor had stated, “Earlier, when I was house-hunting, I would tell my estate agent that I want a place where there were few neighbours. I didn’t want anyone gawking at me. I wanted to go home quietly and not be waylaid by people.” Shahid had also spoken about their current Juhu home and had stated, “My outlook towards designing our house has changed. At my earlier pad in Andheri and the current one in Juhu, I broke down most of the walls and made it completely open. I liked the feeling of a home being intimate yet having a lot of open space within. The walls gave me a feeling of being constricted.”
Shahid Kapoor was further quoted as saying, “So, I had converted my 3BHK Andheri home in such a way that I had a massive bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe and the works. I was a bachelor then and my views on the subject were diametrically opposite to what they are now. Today, I want my children to have their own rooms. Obviously, Mira and my requirement is having a bigger space where the two of us can spend time. We like the thought of staying in a high-rise that offers us solitude, yet gives us access to some aspects that families need.”
It was on March 1, 2019, when Shahid Kapoor’s wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor had shared the ‘happy news’ that they have started working on their ‘Project Home’ with a glimpse of the blueprint of their new house. Shahid had captioned it, “Getting approvals from big daddy. #papaknowsbest ##specialmoments.”

A few months back, Shahid and Mira had visited the Gauri Khan store in Mumbai and sharing a picture from the same, Gauri had written, "Perfect setting for my new collection with Shahid and Mira. Thanks for dropping in." Sharing another picture, Gauri had captioned it, “‘Jab We Met’ Mira and Shahid at #gaurikhandesigns.
