Shah Rukh Khan is the undebated superstar in Indian cinema. The talented actor has retained his position of being the ‘top favourite’ in the hearts of his fans even today, who cannot stop gushing over him. Apart from his terrific filmography, SRK also garners a lot of love and appreciation from his fans over matters of his personal life. And something similar happened again when an unheard anecdote from the actor’s life surfaced on the internet.
Taking to the discussion portal, Reddit, an internet user shared a clip of Gauri Khan’s uncle, who narrated a lesser-known incident revolving around Shah Rukh Khan’s life, which concerned his undying love for his pet dog. Gauri’s uncle revealed how he had gifted his niece and SRK an adorable dog from a Chinese-Pekinese breed, which the couple simply doted upon. However, one day the dog passed away suddenly, when the actor was busy in his shoot. In his absence, SRK’s household members buried it in the sea, without the actor’s knowledge. Gauri Khan’s uncle said:
“Gauri is my niece, my elder sister’s daughter. I gifted her one dog. It was a Chinese-Pekinese dog. And Shah Rukh also started loving that dog, he was very loving. Shah Rukh was out for shoot, something happened and the dog died in his absence. And the boys in the house they took the dog wrapped it in some good cloth and they took it on the sea shore and dug a grave and buried him there.”

Well, Gauri Khan’s uncle then narrated how SRK had a major breakdown when he returned home and got to know about the dog’s death. Upon learning it, the actor did something unbelievable, which speaks loads about his love for animals. He ordered the boys to show him where they buried his furry friend, went on the sea beach, took it out and then again buried it in his home garden at the back of the house. Gauri Khan’s uncle further revealed:
“Shah Rukh came at midnight, he asked where is the dog. They said, sir woh to chale gaye. He said, kaha rakha hai? Humne sea mein unki grave bana di. Two thirty at night he woke up the boys and he said show me where you kept him. He dug the grave, he brought the dog back, put him in the backyard and he’s made some sign there. And he cried all night. He said, how dare you throw my dog away? He has to be with us.”
As soon as the precious video was shared, eagle-eyed netizens took note of the same and started expressing their views on the comment section. Well, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that the majority of internet users were left teary-eyed and inspired by the actor, for showing such a kind gesture towards an animal. While one of them commented, “SRK is SRK. He’s pure love. Goes beyond religion & class & creed. His love for animals shows he has a loving & kind heart”, another user penned, “magine you walking late night 2:30 alone at sea shore and saw Srk digging and taking a dog out himself and crying there”.

Previously, Shah Rukh Khan interacted with his fans on X(formerly Twitter). During the same, one of his fans asked him whether he has any pets. In his reply, the actor wittily responded that he has lots of pets, but he doesn’t show their pictures because of a particular reason. In his words:
“I have lots of pets I just don’t put their pics on social media don’t want them to become more famous than me….”
