She revealed the reasons for starting the campaign and stated, “My campaign comes from the fact that I felt completely disillusioned and broken after being pregnant the first time when I gained weight and was 105 kgs. The perfect body and the perfect face that I worked on, for my film career, broke apart and I was completely lost.” Sameera also said that she felt really bad when people started judging her on her weight gain and requests all the new mothers to love themselves no matter what. (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Finally Follows Her Calling, All Set To Start Her New Venture As An Entrepreneur)

Sameera also stated that self-acceptance is very important. She revealed that in today’s world self-pity is a common thing and with the rise of social media, things have gotten even worse. With her campaign, she wants to aware people that things are not as rosy as they seem on social media and there is nothing as picture-perfect. What is portrayed on social media is not at all true and what is important is to stay happy within. According to Sameera, internal happiness is the most important thing and rest is just materialist.

Sameera who has experienced postpartum depression speaks about the same and has revealed, “Back then, I didn’t even realise I was suffering postpartum. When I complained that I was emotional, moody and feeling very disconnected, I was told, that they were the pregnancy blues. I went with that and kept thinking something is wrong with me. But later, when I consulted a doctor and opened up about my negative thoughts and how I was often feeling extremely low, that was when I was told that I had postpartum depression. As I waited too long to open up and get a diagnosis, it took me almost a year to get out of it.” With time, Sameera’s perception of her body changed and she was more prepared when she was expecting Nyra.

Sameera is quite active on social media and in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on her Instagram handle, she had shared depression as her biggest failure. When one of her fans questioned her, “Your biggest failure and how did you handle it?” To this, Sameera had replied, “My biggest failure was giving in to depression after my firstborn. I didn’t fight it. It took me too long to realise I felt bad about my body and my image. I hid from the world and was worried about what people would think of me. I took therapy and homeopathy. I will never let that happen again.” (Also Read: Priyanka Chopra Jonas Wishes Hubby, Nick Jonas On 'Almost Anniversary' With A 'Pawsome' Surprise)
