Rubina Dilaik is one of the most successful actors in the telly world today. She has gained popularity from her role in the TV serial, Choti Bahu-Sindoor Bin Suhagan, and has never looked back since then. The actress had won millions of hearts with her stint on the reality show, Bigg Boss 14, and had also bagged the title of the winner of the show. Though the actress is in the happiest phase of her life, however, in the initial days, she had faced a lot of struggles in both her personal as well as professional life.
For the unversed, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla had met at a common friend's house at Ganesh Chaturthi. It was then that love had blossomed between the duo as they could feel a spark instantly. What had started off as love at first sight had become a fairytale as Rubina and Abhinav had walked down the aisle after dating each other for four years. The couple had got married in a lavish destination wedding at Shimla on June 21, 2018.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rubina Dilaik opened up about her break-up with her Choti Bahu co-star, Avinash Sachdev and shared that it was one of the toughest times of her life. The actress also revealed that when it had happened, it broke her and she was in depression for almost a year. In her words:
“Because this show and money thing happened together and I wasn’t going through a great time in own personal relationship. Everything just got messed up. I don’t know honestly from where that strength of taking the adversities as a lesson came from. It just happened. One and a half year you are sad and gloomy and every day you look into the mirror and say, ‘Oh My God, who is this?’. Every day, every morning, you don’t like the person in the mirror and then you are automatically pushed to do something.”
Further in the interview, Rubina shared that because of the broken relationship she had to deal with anger issues and that had led to her strained relationship with her parents. Sharing that she had to cut herself from her family and friends, Rubina said:
“It was so difficult that I had to cut down myself from entire chain of relationship from friends to siblings to parents. Because it’s not easy to tell others what you are going through because you yourself don’t know what you are going through. Now with passage of time, bunch of experiences, reading, listening to your way of development, self-growth, evolution whatever you call it, today you and I are talking like this.”
Rubina Dilaik further added that she has learned from her past experiences and has become stronger. Thanking the Almighty for providing her with the strength to cope up with the adversities in her life, she added:
“But I have been fortunate enough to realise it for myself and get back. I remember I used to have sleepless nights and around 3-4 in the morning, I used to wake up gasping for air because for almost 10 days I just cried and not wanting to see anyone. Adversities either make you or break you. And I am very very fortunate that God, Almighty or whatever you call it, gave me that direction of making those adversities into me being who I am today.”
Rubina also shared that her perspective towards relationships and life had changed after her first break-up. Talking about if it was difficult for her to find love again, the Bigg Boss 14 winner said:
“I had few dawning moments for myself. I have to love myself enough to let not anybody and everybody walk into my life. I have to love myself enough to allow myself to make mistakes and love myself enough to understand it’s ok to be rift apart and then slowly and steadily start working to build yourself again.”
On the work front, Rubina Dilaik was last seen in the reality show, Bigg Boss 14.
