It's going to be a year since the couple had tied the knot, but they still radiate the 'new couple' charm. And every time we see them together, it looks like their honeymoon period hasn't gotten over yet! We still remember how in an interview post-marriage, Ranveer had stated that he is aiming towards becoming 'the husband of the millennial' and well, he is definitely proving it!
Recently, Deepika and Ranveer graced IIFA 2019 in their best avatar. Ranveer won the Best Actor In Leading Role award, and oh boy, it was his winning speech that took our heart away. On receiving the award, the actor thanked his mother-in-law, Ujjala Padukone and revealed how she had encouraged him to work hard, and then he said, "Mama, we’re going to London." Talking about his wax statue, Ranveer added that he believes that it is his wife's putla that is the sexiest of all. Ranveer also shared his excitement of getting a wax statue placed next to Deepika, and stated, "It's going to be you and me baby in Madame Tussauds together. Boom."
After marriage, Deepika and Ranveer's relationship has blossomed and grown even further. In an interview with the Femina magazine, Ranveer had spilt the details about the same and had shared, "It has only gotten better. Now, we’re cocooned in love, and there is no space for doubt or misgiving. It’s grounded-ness, centred-ness, security, warmth, and joy. We share experiences and laugh together. The added security that comes with marriage has allowed our relationship to blossom further."
In an interview with the GQ magazine, Deepika had shared, "I think you just know when you want to spend the rest of your life with that one person – and he’s everything rolled into one man. He’s my best friend, playmate, companion and confidant. I can be silly in front of him, I can be stupid in front of him, I can be sick in front of him, I can be whatever I want to be."
In the same interview, she had talked about Ranveer and how he is as a person. She had said, "He is vulnerable, extremely emotional, very intelligent; childlike at times. That's not to say that his irrepressible energy isn't him, it's very him. He's a real people's person, but there's a quiet side to him too."
