Superstar Rajnikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth has made a name for herself in the South Indian film industry. She started off as a graphics designer in films and eventually progressed to becoming a director. She has a unique feat attached to her name- that of being the only and first woman to direct her father in a feature film (Kochadaiiyaan, 2014). She is in the news now, not for her films but for her personal life. It must be mentioned here that Soundarya got married to Ashwin Ramkumar, an industrialist and businessman on September 03, 2010 at Rani Meyyammai Hall in Chennai. However, due to irrevocable differences, they announced in 2016 that they have filed for divorce. Soundarya and Ashwin got legally separated in July 2017. The couple has a son named, Ved.
And now, reportedly, Soundarya is all set to walk down the aisle again with businessman-actor Vishagan Vanangamudi in 2019. The reports have been suggesting that the couple already had their engagement ceremony a while ago amidst close friends and family.
For the uninitiated ones, it must be mentioned here that Vishagan is the son of popular businessman Vanangamudi. His brother is a member of the famous political party, DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam). Vishagan himself is also an actor and played the lead role in Vanjagar Ulagam, 2018. Soundarya always keeps a low profile when it comes to her personal life. If there is anything she discusses in an interview, it’s her work and films. Talking to RITZ magazine in 2016, when she was asked why she has decided to part ways with her husband, she only replied, “I don’t wish to discuss it. Whatever decision has been taken wasn’t overnight and was after a lot of thought. It’s a very big decision.” Then she was asked how her superstar father reacted to her decision, she retorted, “He is a very supportive father and at the end of the day, he wants his child to be happy, he was the first person to say, ‘Do what is right!”
With numerous achievements in her kitty, she must be proud of herself. So, what’s the one thing that she is immensely proud of? Soundarya was asked this question in the same interview, and she said that she is a proud mother. She was quoted as saying, “I wouldn’t even think twice. I am most proud to be a mom. I am very proud that I am able to balance my life in such a way that my son comes first for me and I am a working woman too.”
On managing her personal and professional life with a son at home, Soundarya said, “That is what life is all about. Life is about balancing and I love doing it. I spend plenty of time with my baby and always make sure I am with him for his meals and I take him to school.
