Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are yet to confirm their upcoming winter wedding, but the planning and celebrations are going on in full swing. The pre-wedding celebrations started with a dreamy bridal shower for Priyanka and the bride-to-be looked like a vision in white in her bridal shower outfit. Priyanka celebrated her bridal shower at Tiffany & Co. in New York and she opted for a gorgeous white Marchesa gown which featured a feathered skirt and a fitted strapless bodice. For the unversed, Marchesa brand is co-owned by Georgina Chapman, who is Priyanka Chopra’s close friend. Georgina Chapman recently got divorced from Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct, not by one but 60 women in 2017. Even Hollywood A-listers such as Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow had accused him. After the controversy, Scarlett Johansson was the first celeb to wear one of Marchesa outfits at the Met Gala 2018.
In an interview with Women's Wear Daily, Priyanka defended her friend, Georgina and revealed why she chose to wear that brand for her bridal shower. Saying that the outfit was 'the right choice', Priyanka remarked, "Georgina's a friend of mine, and she has been. And it's not her fault. And I don't think it's right to take it out on a self-made woman what somebody in her life did. That's the wrong attitude. I've known her for years, and that was a beautiful gown and deserved to be worn by a bride-to-be. And it made me feel like a princess. It was the right choice."
Priyanka Chopra’s bridal shower outfit was worth $5,995 and she adorned with it, $1 million worth of Tiffany's jewellery, excluding her $250,000 Tiffany's engagement ring, gifted by fiancé, Nick Jonas. Sharing some fun-filled moments from her bridal shower, Priyanka captioned them, "Love, laughter and a room full of amazing ladies...and some special gentlemen (what a special surprise)! In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Priyanka revealed who made the first move, she or Nick Jonas and how things started between the two. She shared, “I actually didn’t make the first move - he did. He texted me. In another interview, Priyanka explained why she decided to open up about her relationship with Nick only after she had a 'ring on her finger'. PeeCee stated, "This is the first time I was comfortable with being with someone who is such an incredible partner, so it just felt natural... And plus there was a ring on it! I always said that when there's a ring on it I'll talk about it because you're single until you're married."
On the sidelines of the Bumble India launch in NYC, Priyanka told People Magazine, "I've never been public about my relationships... because women (especially in the entertainment industry) have such public lives, we always end up being reduced to a plus one or 'blahblahblah's' girlfriend. I wanted to give myself enough time where I'm able to stand on my own two feet and have my identity as well."
