Priyanka Chopra is a 'Daddy's Lil Girl', and in an interview with the fashion editor, Tiffany Reid, she opened up about her late father, Ashok Chopra's death. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that till her father's death, she was so busy building her career that she even forgot her personal life. Priyanka added that her father's death made her realise that she needed to stop and take a moment for herself. Elaborating more about it, Priyanka said:
"I don't remember how many of my mother's birthdays I have forgotten or I might have missed. How many times I forgot to call her in my 20s? or how many times like I missed Diwali because I am working in Europe and they don't have Diwali here so it's fine. I just skipped and missed and didn't think it was okay till I did. Till my dad died, and I didn't have another Diwali to be with him."

Further, in the same interview, Priyanka mentioned that she had missed so many Diwalis with her parents or forgot to call them in her 20s. The actress stated that her father's death was like a wake-up call for her as it made her realise that life is indeed short. In her words:
"When he got sick, it was a really big… I think that was a very momentous moment for me where I realised that life is short and we worry about so many trivial things when there are so many big things for us to worry about. I think focusing on that brings you to the ground."
Priyanka Chopra's father left for the heavenly abode in 2013 after a long battle with cancer. However, even after years of his demise, his little girl never leaves a chance to remember him and show her love for him in public. For instance, on August 24, 2022, Priyanka had shared her childhood picture with her late father, and it simply melted our hearts. In the picture, a candid moment of the father-daughter duo was captured, where the duo could be seen enjoying each other's company. Sharing the picture, Priyanka penned:
"Happy birthday dad. We miss u. Everyday."

Earlier, in an interview with Spotify, Priyanka Chopra opened up about her husband, Nick Jonas and revealed that he is a carbon copy of her late father, Ashok Chopra. The actress further added that whenever they both pose on the red carpet, after a couple of pictures together, Nick Jonas stands on the side and lets the paparazzi take her solo pictures. Priyanka also revealed that just like her father, Nick is also thoughtful, kind, and conscientious.
