Priyanka Chopra became Priyanka Chopra Jonas on December 1-2, 2018 after a Christian and Hindu wedding. She tied the nuptial knot with her long-time boyfriend and international sensation, Nick Jonas. Priyanka uploaded a pic of herself in which her doting hubby, Nick can be seen looking at her with love in his eyes. In fact, our Desi Girl also captioned the pic as, "Find someone who looks at you like that @nickjonas." Priyanka had shared her thought behind the two wedding ceremonies and how special it was for her. She had said, “We are taking beautiful traditions that we both grew up with and we are personalizing them in a way that makes sense for us. It's been incredible to find the commonalities between our beliefs and figuring out how to blend them in a respectful and meaningful way.”
In another interview with NDTV, Priyanka had revealed the idea behind her two wedding dresses and stated, “For me, it was not about fashion. I wanted something unique. Both the dresses - red and white - were personalised for me. It had names, dates, my parents' names. My mother-in-law's wedding dress embroidered on mine. Things that mattered to me. I wanted the longest veil in the world. My 75-foot long veil. And I got that. The newbie wife, Priyanka had also shared a piece of advice for the newly-weds, and said, “I would just tell brides out there, whatever your priority is, is right. It doesn’t matter if your priority is work, that’s right. If your priority is the honeymoon, that’s right. If your priority is doing nothing, that’s right too. ’Cause as newlyweds, it’s really your turn. you get to do whatever you want. And with us, these are the choices we took that work for us.”
Speaking about her bridal attire in the same interview, Priyanka had remarked, "It wasn't about fashion. I wanted something unique. Both the dresses - red and white - were personalised for me... I wanted the longest veil in the world and I got that. The outfits were personal choices." About her veil, for those who don’t know, it was more than 75-feet long making the longest in the world ever.
Priyanka wore a traditional Sabyasachi red lehenga which looked elegant on her. Talking about the same, Priyanka shared, “For the Indian wedding, I wore Sabyasachi. I always knew I wanted a red traditional silhouette for my wedding but Sabya brought in incredible French embroidery to the mix and with incredible jewellery and western inspired veil it was just such an amalgamation of who I am!.”
In an interview with a magazine, when Nick was asked about their future and where they are planning to make a home, he had replied, "Good question! Let us be married for a little while before we make all these big decisions. We are in our honeymoon period right now and we will be for a long time. Thankfully we both have closets and we can put our things in each other's closets. It's very easy to combine our lives."
In an interview with People magazine, Priyanka opened up about the most emotional moment from her wedding while she was walking down the aisle and said, "It was all tears. All tears. I could not hold it in. I think I was nervous and scared.
