Piyush Mishra is a popular actor, widely known for his stellar performances in the films, Maqbool and Gangs of Wasseypur. Apart from his professional front, Piyush has always garnered the spotlight for his personal life. Piyush has been married to Priya Narayanan since 1995. Over the years, their relationship has had a fair share of ups and downs due to the actor’s past infidelity, emotional distance and more. In a recent conversation, he opened up about the following.
In a recent conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, Piyush Mishra revealed that now he is a good husband, but earlier he wasn’t. He mentioned that years ago, he was not responsible at all, and marriage is a very big responsibility. He highlighted that when a person is in their 20s, there is no logic to falling in love, but after they reach their 30s, they start loving the person who is willing to grow old with them. Piyush added that his wife, Priya, also admitted to growing old with him. He was quoted as saying:
"Now I am a good husband; I wasn’t earlier. Back then, I wasn’t responsible at all, and marriage is a very big responsibility. When you fall in love at 20, there's no logic to it, that's the beauty of it. But after 35, you love the person who is willing to grow old with you. Love is defined by the woman who is ready to grow old with you, and she accepted that she would grow old with me."

During the same conversation, Piyush shared that it took him nearly 10 to 15 years to acknowledge his marriage to Priya. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor stated that his wife, Priya, was just a woman for him, who had his children, cooked for him and took care of his household. Recalling the time, Piyush mentioned that back then, he was a very dry person. However, irrespective of how he behaved with Priya, the latter loved him and had married him against her parents’ wishes. Piyush called himself fortunate as 'Priya' never left him. He was quoted as saying:
"It took me nearly 10–15 years to realise that she is my wife. Before that, she was just a woman who had my children, cooked for me, and took care of the house. I had no feelings beyond that. I was a very dry person, not just with Priya, but with everything. I didn't feel anything. She loved me. She had run away from home for me and married me against her parents' wishes. She said she would never leave me. It was her greatness that she stayed with me. Today I understand it. I am fortunate."

In the same conversation, Piyush opened up about his past infidelity. He also shared how his wife, Priya, reacted to it. Recalling the moment, Piyush mentioned that they were both crying. Although the matters were tough for Priya to accept, she handled them maturely. Piyush added that after confessing about his past infidelity to his wife, life became much better. He was quoted as saying:
"When I realised my mistakes, I sat her down one day and told her everything I had done. We were both crying, and we embraced each other. After that, we felt lighter. She said, 'You made mistakes, I did too, you made more, I made fewer. Let's end these matters here.' It took 5-6 years to finally say it all. One day, we decided to do it. Initially, it was a shock for both of us. But after that, life became much better. There was nothing left to hide-and then we could move forward."
