Farah Khan's Unseen 'Nikaah' Wedding Ceremony Video Surfaces, SRK Takes Part In Ritual With Priest

Bollywood's ace choreographer, Farah Khan, has been married to filmmaker Shirish Kunder for more than 20 years now. Shirish is someone who never likes the limelight. It was on December 9, 2004, when Farah and Shirish tied the knot, and now an old video has gone viral on social media. As seen in the clip, Farah's good friend, Shah Rukh Khan, was seeing her kanyadaan. The couple had got married as per the Hindu style and also had a nikaah ceremony.

For the unversed, Farah Khan reportedly wore a Kanjeevaram saree for her Hindu wedding ceremony and a blue-and-silver Patiala salwarkameez for her nikaah ceremony. As seen in the unseen video, Shah Rukh Khan is seen performing the kanyadaan ritual during Farah's Hindu wedding ceremony with Shirish Kunder. SRK was seen listening to the prayers chanted by the priest and following the kanyadaan rituals. For the unversed, Farah, for her wedding reception, was seen wearing a red and golden-hued designer saree by Manish Malhotra. A young SRK in the video was seen wearing a navy blue-hued t-shirt while his wife, Gauri Khan, was seen wearing a shimmery saree. Farah, according to a Wedding Sutra report, had worn jewellery which was gifted to her by Sushmita Sen.

The video that has gone viral on social media dates back to 2004. Shah Rukh Khan was seen taking part in the kanyadaan ritual. For the unversed, kanyadaan is a Hindu wedding ritual in which the bride's family symbolically gives her away in marriage. As seen in the clip, the priest was guiding SRK. Once Farah's kanyadaan ritual was completed, the clip showed SRK giving Farah a warm hug and a kiss on the cheek. There were many other moments from the wedding video that went viral on social media.

As seen in the clip, Gauri Khan, SRK's wife, was standing next to him while he was seen chanting some Vedic mantras. The actor was seen putting holy water into the hands of Farah and Shirish. The decade-old clip had made fans nostalgic as SRK was seen performing the kanyadaan ritual with a lot of concentration at the wedding of Farah Khan. Fans could not stop talking about it on social media. Farah and Shirish have had a successful interfaith marriage, and both of them have blended their cultural traditions during their wedding ceremony. For the unversed, the kanyadaan ritual is usually performed by the father of the bride or by any close male family member.

Farah, earlier in an interview with ETimes, revealed that Shirish, in her decade-long marriage with him, has never apologised to her. She had revealed that if she had glanced at her phone while he was talking, he would just walk out. It was on the sets of Main Hoon Na that Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder first met. Shirish is someone who hates taking the limelight. Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Zayed Khan and Amrita Rao starrer, Main Hoon Na, was the directorial debut of Farah. In an earlier interview with Archana Puran Singh for her YouTube channel, Farah revealed it was not love at first sight for her. In her words:
